Quake's 5 disapointments thus far

With the halfway point fast coming here are my 5 disapointments so far:

1. Bears Defense:

In 2006 the Chicago Bears rode their defense all the way to the super bowl and with bigger aspirations for 2007 it is safe to say that the Bears defense has been a bust thus far. They cant stop the run or the pass and they are on a downward spiral. With the Packers racking up wins like funnel cakes it wont be long before the Bears are out of the picture completely.

2. Shaun Alexander

Oh how the mighty have fallen. After 1,696 yards in 2004 and 1,880 and 28 total TDs in 2005 the former NFL MVP has really regressed. The coverboy of Madden 2007 had an injury plagued 2006 and has been a sub-par performer so far in 2007. Has age finally caught up to Mr. Alexander? It seems so.

3. New York Jets

After a dream 2006 that ended in the wild card round the Jets had high hopes for the 2007 campaign, but extremely poor QB play and an ineffective run game and an injury plagued defense the Jets are 1-7 and basically out of playoff contention for 2007. What took Mangini so long to make the QB switch. Who knows? But Kellen Clemens will get his start this Sunday against the Redskins which could spell the end of the Pennington era in the big apple.

4. Kickoff/Punt coverages

It seems like this season more ans more kicks are being taken the distance. What is this about? What are the coaches preaching? It seems like every week there is at least 2 taken for a score let it be punt or kickoff. Can we get a stop to that. Missed tackles all over the place.

5. The Media

Can they just shut up about the damn Patriots and the Colts it is really making some shows like NFL Live and Primetime unwatchable because this is all they talk about. Even in games that they are not playing in they get most of the media attention. Now their match-up this weekend as been marked as the biggest regular season game in history. Memo to the media: There are 30 other teams in the league

It honestly doesn't disappoint me when other teams are struggling. Especially when they're on the Redskins' schedule. However, if I have their players on my fantasy team, then that's a different story!

My biggest disappointment so far this season has been the Redskins' injuries.

Earthquake, I know how to stop the PUNT returners at least (not the kickoffs yet) Re-teach the coffin corner kick and don't just use it to kick it inside the 5, but use it all over the field. Just have the punter learn how to kick it 40 yards down the field out of bounds. Ta Ta.... Devin Hester just eliminated from the game. I mean what is the average net punt anyway? 40 yards? Never kick it in bounds! There is not a penalty for an out of bounds punt. On a kickoff, kick the angle and shorten the size of the field and learn how to contain the other half of the field. Why is this so simple to me? and million dollar coaches don't see it?

How bout the 49ers Offense this year? Frank Gore tore it up last year but this year, nada. IMO they are the biggest suprise (disapointment).

The Bears D is about as banged up as one can be, and the Jets D was awful last year also.

The media never fails to be disappointing though. That's about as certain as death and taxes right there.

I second THAT emotion!!!

And one solution to the kickoffs/punts being returned....just play the Bucs...it's NEVER a problem defending theirs!!!

The starting safety for the Bears is Adam Archuleta. Nuff said!

Also, what happened to the Saints offense?

My biggest disappointment this year is Santana Moss and C.P. At least C.P can blame the O-Line injuries to a certain extant. Moss hasn’t done jack but lost the game for us in G.B.

I have to agree with most of you on this thread. MY biggest dissapointments this year are, Moss, the O line injuries, and the lack of Offensive Production week in and week out. Were the hall is that Al Saunders offense at? We should have kept with Gibbs offense of 05. We would be a hell of alot better than this. Damn all we needed was a couple of more pieces for Gibbs to suceed. Not another over paid coach.

Re: Quake's 5 disapointments thus far

Five biggest disappointments:

1. New Orleans Saints: preseason NFC favorite getting a real slow start.

2. San Diego Chargers: With that roster, they should rival the Patriots, but the slow start may hamper their January hopes.

3. St Louis Rams: preseason consensus to win the NFC West, injuries have destroyed them. Sitting on a doughnut and a snowman at mid-season. OUCH!

4. Cleveland Browns: Ok personal reasons here, but Dallas owns the Browns first rounder in April, On any other day that is a garaunteed top 10 (maybe top 5) pick, but NOOOOOO, these jerks actually have to go out and win some damn games! To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

5. Any team in the AFC East NOT named the Patriots: What a crappy division, one dominate force and 3 welcome mats that every team gets to step on. If it keeps going the way it is, the Patriots will lock up the division in week 10! Probably another NFL Record for Beli-clit to put on his HOF Resume.
