Re: Can we beat the Jets?
In my opinion we really need to do something with this offense it stinks to high hell.Trust me Belliturd is on the phone with Mangini his former coordinator on what to do to rattle Campbell. In my opinion Joe Gibbs needs to stop handcuffing Campbell and let him him use his athleticicm and instincts to make plays.Gibbs is too conservative and needs to go back to Nascar.I bet we would do good if Gregg Williams was the head coach i just think Gibbs is done. The game has passed him by.In my opinion Al saunders has been nothing but a beast when he was with Kansas City chiefs but Joe gibbs keeps getting in the way.We should have benched Moss after the Packers game the guy is not 100% i would play Mccardell. And why in the hell is Brandon lloyd still with the team.We will never get it right. Its time for a new head coach. We were truly outcoached in New England and got our asses kicked.Joe Gibbs has no balls.NY jets 24 Washington 14

Re: Can we beat the Jets?
I agree. We can beat the Jets but we need to play more agressively on offense.

Re: Can we beat the Jets?
Washington 23
Jets 26 sad but we may run our course as far as leaning on our D, I hate to say this, but I think Gibbs must go next year, go to the front office and bring Cower in or Give GW the job, but I was watching the game, instead of trying the run, run, pass, how about just come out in 4-5 wr set, and just pass the first 15-20 plays, and then mix some runs in there, we didnt suprise anyone,......except the world, on how bad we really were....

Re: Can we beat the Jets?
The Jets are a very similar team to ours. They outrank us or are equal to us in most offensive categories, including passer rating, big pass plays (>25 yard), passing yards per game, passing TD's, rushing yards (we have a slight edge here of maybe 10 yards), rush yards per carry, and so on.
They give up about 70 yards more per game of total offense than we do. We have a pair of picks more than they do and twice as many sacks. The big X-Factor is going to be Clemens. We should be able to rattle a QB with even less experience than our own, especially if Coles is still on the shelf. I think we win this one, but ugly. 13-6.

Re: Can we beat the Jets?
If the Redskins lose this one you should be extremely worried about the rest of the season.
And no way Man-gina is on the phone with Belicheat about anything unless it is a verbal confrontation. The two put on painted smiles for the media, but in reality despise one-another immensely. Belicheat feels Man-gina betrayed him by going to a division rival at the Jets, and Man-gina is the guy who reported Belicheat for the infamous "spy-cameras". The Jets have benched Pennington in favor of Clemmons. Not because Clemmons is the savior and will deliver them to the playoffs. At 1-7, the Jets have already conceded thier season and are putting thier new young QB in for the rest of the year to get him "game time" expeirence for the rest of the season. The Pennington era is over in New York, Clemmons is thier QB of the future and the job is his to lose for the next several seasons. With that in mind, the Redskins defense should be able to feast easily on the Jets offense. Greg Williams is going to bring the house all day long and force the inexperienced QB into rash and devestating mistakes. The offense just needs to take care of the ball and make sustained drives. I think that Cooley is what will spark the offense and they need to get the ball in his hands early and often. To be honest, he has been, to this point, the most reliable receiver on the team, and him catching and getting yards after the catch will help Campbells confidence tremendously. But IF the Redskins falter against the Jets, then one would be hard pressed not to concede that this team is not who they thought, or advertised themselves to be. Re: Can we beat the Jets?
Of course we can beat the Jets, in fact we sure as hell better beat the Jets! If we lose, the wheels are officially coming off on the season.

You have three games coming up. @ New York Jets, PHILADELPHIA, and @ Dallas. If I told you that as a fan, you could assign two wins and one loss to those three games (a reasonable expectation), which game would you assign the loss to? Thought so. Now, in reality it doesn't work like that, but all I'm saying is road losses outside of conference only help you get tiebreakers. To prevent the season from slipping away, we need to beat our division opponents.

Re: Can we beat the Jets?
The last defense Kellen Clemens faced as a starter was Baltimore, for which he had the Jets in position to win until a last second INT deep in Ravens' territory. Skins defense is now without one of it's starters in the secondary, and injuries among the LBs. Belicheck showed the rest of the NFL what the Lions, Cardinals and Packers couldn't do...beat G-Dub's deep zone.
As much confidence as I have in the Skins to win, this is one of those games that can bite right square in the ass if the team isn't careful. G-Dub is going to have to rattle Clemens' cage a bit, while focusing on short and intermediate passing. I think Taylor and Landry can play centerfield all day, with Coles nursing a calf injury. Thomas Jones is having a decent year on the ground, but hasn't found paydirt yet. The Skins offense is going to have to overcome a shaky line and blow open holes for Portis and Betts to run through. Sellers needs the ball more, and Campbell is going to have to find Moss and ARE deep a few times. I'm very fearful of this game. This is a make or break game for the Skins, even though a loss puts them at 4-4, it's a long uphill battle the rest of the way. Momentum from this game will have to carry them through Philly, Dallas, Tampa and into Buffalo. No predictions as of yet, but I have a bad feeling this game is going to be ugly.

Re: Can we beat the Jets?
Of course the season isn't over with a loss against the Jets, but if we can't beat a 1-7 team the outlook on the much tougher games down the road won't be that great. This is a game we should win, and need to win to keep pace. We need to handle our business against the Jets and start to get this offense back on track.
