Are we the sleeper team or what?

I'm doing my best to watch the whole NFL and many teams are getting better and others being stripped.

When you mention the Skins many floks still laugh us off.

I tell folks that if Coach Lombardi came back to life and Coached the Packers folks would pick them for the Super Bowl but if he coached the Skins they would say..."well, he was dead".

lol

Pack a lunch NFC

peace

I think most don't want to get burnt like the last 2 seasons with Spurrier. Luckily for the NFL when the Fun and Gun sputtered in 202 Mike Vick had a great season and even last season with the "Jet-Skins" doing even worse that the Pats had their great run.

I don't blame the players at all, just the coaching. I want to believe and I have no doubt with Gibbs back. But to the casual and non-Redskin fans, it's a joke; 5 coaches, 6 seasons. The only thing that will make believers out of them will be results. And being a sleeper is a good thing, especially when you have an over-rated under manned Philly team as most peoples favorite for the Superbowl, even with their completely over-matched corners and a division with recievers like Coles, Shockey, Toomer, Keshawn, etc...

I've heard the NFC East mentioned as the toughest division this season, but nowhere have I seen the Redskins picked to win it. Really no where have I seen anyone other than Philly picked to win it.

It's all good though, how much sweeter is an "I told you so" than when you stood all alone when you made the claim.

The Redskins will win the NFC East!

a couple guys on ESPN have picked the skins to win the division and with all the hype this year(again), I don't think we can really count as a sleeper. I'd say a sleeper would be like the Texans or the Bills. plus after a couple regular season games the Skins definitely won't be considered a sleeper.

Any fan who knows his football will admit this team will be one that can do damage in the NFC. Even Eagles, Giants and Dallas fans aren't that stupid.

I keep hearing "The pats got stronger, the pat's got stronger." Please explain to me after losing your nose tackle who also called the defensive plays and a disgruntled top CB on your team how they got stronger? You mean a cancer named Corey Dillion? Pats will be lucky to see the playoffs.

People are under-estimating the Giants IMO, and overestimating the Eagles/Cowboys.

Yeah, I have to agree that the Pats have not gotten any stronger. They lost TWashington and replaced him with a rookie - albeit a huge, talented rookie. Washington WAS the the defense in NE. I think Dillon is gonna be a flop. He is getting older by the second. The Pats are also one Tom Brady-twisted-ankle away from disaster. Rohan Davey tore it up in Europe, but he does not have any NFL experience.

i think they are counting on Bruski (sp) to take a leadership role in NE. I consider the Texans a sleeper this season and actually hope they do well, I like the attitude and personality of the team thus far.

I would say Kurt Warner is the hinge on the Giants success next year. If Manning hops in, look for a horrible season for them.

My superbowl prediction... Denver vs Washington. You heard it here first.

Ted Washington is also an aging and often injured defensive tackle. I don't see where his loss will be that much of a hit to the defense, not enough to throw the team into the cellar of the AFC East.

The key to the New England D is Belichick, not Ted Washington. As long as he's the coach, the Pats will be a very well prepared and well coached team.

Don't forget. Ty Law is NOT happy there. That's huge for them. IMO he single-handedly beat the Colts =p

Roosevelt Colvin is back for the Pats this year too. I'm one who actually thinks Dillon is going to have a really good year. He's had them playing for the Bengals his entire career.

Dillon is a better running back then they had. They lost washingotn and picked up huge vince wilfork and Keith taylor was it? Law apoligzed for eveyrthign and says he wants to be there. Colvin is back. They drafted ben watson in teh first round to, so they added the treat of a te. And they have one of the best coaches in football. They didtn get weaker. And if they odnt win the superbowl it doesnt mean they are weaker, only one team can win it. they did everythign they could to make anotehr run at it though.

Well I think we should be the one of the top picks with all our talent, but people are kind of shying away from picking us for numerous reasons. Will the coaches hold up?Wll the players gell together? Is is this the same Redskins from the past 11 years? So when we are tearing up the league this year it will come as no suprise. The truth is Gibbs has forgot more than most head coaches in the league.

he may not have been happy earlier this year, but he's changed his tune and I'd see the new rules enforcing inteference and illegal contact will have more of an impact on Law's defense than his attitude. Plus with the coaching and depth on defense the loss of washington won't be that big of a deal and Colvin is healthy now. Plus dillon even at his age and with his "attitude" is better than anything the Pat's have had the past few years in the backfield.
