Remember the last time we played the Pack?

At home in 2004 I believe, Near the election week (some stat about if the Redskins win the incumbent stays)

And we lost the game on a BS call - illegal motion on Thrash (when he wasn't moving), that negated a winning Portis TD. I guarantee you Gibbs still remembers that...

Lets beat the pants off the Pack.

It was on Halloween and I was about the most hungover that I've ever been in my life because we'd been at the bar until 4am the morning of, but we still got to FedEx at about 10am.
That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen in my life!!! You could run that same play in the same fashion 100 more times and the refs would call illegal motion maybe 1 other time.

I totally remember it. As I recall, that election stat held true.

Favre lit us up in the 1st half of that game but we shut him down in the 2nd. I believe Smoot had 2 picks.
I look for a similar day this week. Favre will go on a roll at some point but not for the entire game. I hope GW plays the cover 2 & lets the corners gamble on those slants. Favre will try & force some of them. Would be sweet to see the D score some more, especially CR.

A BS call indeed. Thrash had made an identical maneuver earlier in the game that was not called. That should have been a signature play for Portis in a Redskin uniform with the flip in the end zone.

No.... the election stat broke it's streak. Skins lost and the incumbent still won....unfortunately.

The Redskins have never won in Lambeau, hopefully we can change that!

Maybe we should wear our Lombardi designed 75th Anniversary Uni's. Might break the curse...

NFL - Green Bay Packers/Washington Redskins Recap Sunday October 31, 2004 - Yahoo! Sports

Here's a recap of that game. The call was the main story.
Springs had 2 Int.'s , Smoot 1

It's funny because you still see that play all the time in NFL promos, and it drives me crazy because it takes me back to that horrid call!!

Remember the last time we blew a team out of the water? If not is was against the 49ers, and then the next week we were killed by the giants, so let's not get to ahead of ourselves just yet!!!

Re: Remember the last time we played the Pack?

I just remember the smug look on Tom Whites face when he made that call and you can even see the other ref mouthing "Are you sure?" to him, because it was such a bad call...I think thats the first time (of many) I really lost it over a bad call.

Re: Remember the last time we played the Pack?

I don't think I've ever been more frustrated in my life. I was there, and I remember Fred Smoot coming on a corner blitz untouched and just blind siding Favre. Favre shook him off like a flea, and proceeded to throw a 20 yard pass or something like that.

And yes, that call was horse shit.
