Can the redskins beat the lions without portis and moss

the latest redskins insider blog posts show that it is very possible we wont have portis or moss for the lions game. Do we have a chance against the lions without them? are the 3-1 lions going to be favored against us at home .. or are we going to use betts and cartwright with our great left side but depleted right and bully the lions with a strong defensive showing?

whats it gonna be ? how do you guys feel about this game? i admit im nervous.

Portis is experiencing some tendonitis. If he's out then that's, in my opinion, a much bigger deal than Moss being out.

That said, I think they'll both play. And even if they didn't, yes we still have a chance. It'll just be more of a challenge

I'm with you, I don't think either will miss any time...especially not portis. When has he not been on an injury list? He always plays unless the injury is HUGE.
While missing both would be a huge deal, I still think we can win. The Lions still turn the ball over more than any team in football and get sacked more than any team in football. Our D WILL cause them problems!

He and Portis missed practice on Monday, but no one is calling either of them out for this week.

Portis will play, IMO, but I wouldn't be surprised not to see Moss. I think the trainers think that Moss really needs to keep off his injuries (playing could really make them worse), while with Portis, it's just rest as much as you can, and then play in pain.

Just wildly speculatin, yo.

Re: Can the redskins beat the lions without portis and moss

The injury report comes out today so we will see about SM and CP.

To answer the question, I think the Skins will have a tough time beating the Lions. I think the D will have to win this game because I'm just not sure the O can score enough points to win.

Unfortunately, I think we might not win with Moss and Portis. The Lions are another one of those offensive explosion teams that I don't think we can keep up with offensively.

Reading the ESPN scouts review of Lions-Bears was that the DET front 7 was too physical for the Bears. I wish we had Randy Thomas back..

Re: Can the redskins beat the lions without portis and moss

I can see the Lions coming in and having a big letdown after a huge win last week. They are in for a rude awakening come Sunday. We are not the Bears. JC will beat them deep on atleast 4 occasions. Moss and Portis will play and Portis will have 200 yards from scrimmage. Moss will be doubled all day so ARE and Lloyd will both score. Yea I said Lloyd will score. We put up 40+, and the Defense gets 6 sacks and 4 picks from Kitna and hold them to 13.

Bitches!

If Moss can't go I think that's a bigger loss than Portis.

Betts is a more than capable backup, but we have some serious question marks at WR behind Randle El. I hope Caldwell is ready to go and can give us some meaningful snaps.
