Some clarification on the status of Shawn Springs.
Be interesting to see how long he is affected with the latest hammy problem.
Will this guy ever be healthy? IMO with mother time catching him and one injury after another, and more than likely his last season with us. It sure would be nice to think we could get 10-12 FULL games out of our #1 CB. Thoughts? Redskins Sign Caldwell

He looked fine in the game. I don't think this is serious at all. Either way if the coaches want to win next week they need him to be the #1 cornerback, Fred Smoot ain't gettin it done.

Re: Some clarification on the status of Shawn Springs.
I can see Springs being healthy enough to PLAY in every game. I think it will be an injury that hampers his talent, and keeps him out of more plays, but unless he really does something bad to it I think we will see him in uniform all 16.

Re: Some clarification on the status of Shawn Springs.
We might be reading a little too much into this Springs thing. GW leads me to believe it is his intention to take a few snaps off him early in the season in an effort to have 3-4 healthy DB's in Dec. If that's his plan, so be it. I'm more concerned with results as opposed to who starts.

Its better to keep him out until he's needed. Look at how many players around the league are out for the season. Its crazy. He has all the talent and heart, but there's no need to play at 85% when the other corners are at 100%.

I'd rather have Springs stay healthy for teams with good WR's than get hurt playing a team with subpar receivers. It would suck losing to the Lions bc Mike Rumph was brought back.

I think that we can get away with Smoot and Rogers this weekend. Save Springs for when we really need him. Phillys receivers really don't scare me much. Hell Green Bays secondary kept them in check for most of that game.

I thought Springs said he felt better than he had in years?

Green Bay's defense is the most improved part of their team, they're going to suprise this year. Their front seven is comprable to most in the league, demonstrated by the way they played on Sunday.

Re: Some clarification on the status of Shawn Springs.
Watching Comcast right now and Gibbs was speaking with Larry Michaels on Redskins radio earlier today. He stood by his stance saying Jerry Gray came to him and expressed doubts that Springs was 100% so Gibbs didn't start him. That they look at it like they have 3 starters on this team. Since he didn't seem to skirt the issue and provided a lengthy explanation, I think this is a simple molehill of an issue.
LOL he also said Smoot "fights his guts out".
