Lightbulb NFC East Divison Question???

If the Cowboys beat both the Eagles & Giants twice & we beat the Cowboys twice but lose to both the Eagles & Giants will we still win the divison or how does that work? Try to get a clear understand how you exactly win a divison!!!

Confucius says, he who wins most games, wins division.

I know that but we went 5-1 in 05 & we didn't win the divison we were a wild card team we had the most wins in the divison but I think the Giants won that year.

I think it came down to where the AFC wins mattered actually.

Re: NFC East Divison Question???

Or maybe it was because the Giants had a better divisional record?

The team with the best record wins the division.

If there is a tie, the first tie-breaker is division record. In your scenario the Redskins and Dallas would both be 4-2, but the Redskins would win because of their head to head sweep. I am assuming you meant to say we split with the Eagles and the Giants.

There is a whole list of tie-breakers they apply including a coin toss if all else fails. Someone could probably link to that at the NFL site. Someone less lazy than I.

Re: NFC East Divison Question???

In '05 we did go 5-1 in the division and we had the best divisional record. However, the Giants had the better overall record. The team that has the best overall record will win the division, if there are 2 teams in the same division with the same record then it goes to the divisional record to determine the division champ.
