Wow, the Cowboys, shocker. The media and general population is on their nuts again, another big surprise.

Re: ESPN Poll: Who wins NFC East?
I think Dallas has last place cut right out for them this year. 4-6 wins.
Everyone else is down on the Giants. I think they will sweep the Cowboys. |

Re: ESPN Poll: Who wins NFC East?
Not at all.
I don't know what to expect out of the Dallas defense this year. Could be very good for all I know, but they have a lot of questions to answer. Offensively, this teams best player, Marion Barber, isn't even in the starting lineup. That OL is still awful, Romo has not done nearly enough to prove he deserves to keep his job, they have no other QBs to replace him if need be, and they have a pair of really old whiny receivers. One of the worst offenses in the conference (though not quite at Minnesota level). The Giants will be a bit worse than last year, but only a bit (and may even win more than 8 games). The loss of one player is always a bad reason to be down on a team even if that player was valuable like Tiki. It will make some difference, but Brandon Jacobs will come in and fill in Tiki's shoes adequately. Eli should have his best season as a pro. All in all, they are a team pretty much on par with us. I have some worries about whether or not we can take care of them head to head this year. I predict we split with them. |

Re: ESPN Poll: Who wins NFC East?
I am gonna have to agree with GTripp, the Cowboys have too many ifs to be the favorites for NFC EAST. It has to be the Eagles, they have McNabb healthy and Westbrook, plus a decent D. Everything for them is proven and there.
The Cowboys have a new coach, new system, an highly overrated QB who I would say is unproven. 3 out of the Cowboys last 6 games last season Romo had below a 60 QB rating. Very inconsistent. He was hot his first couple starts, but then cooled off pretty quickly. TO of course is a good receiver, but has issues with drops. Their D got anally penetrated last year, and they gave up a ton of yards like us. Not good enough to be number 1. I think generally the predictions should be Eagles Dallas Washington New York Not that I think we will be 3rd, but that is a realistic opinion of the rest of the US because of our poor performance last year.

All these predictions will melt away after week two I suspect. Then, you'll see the "expert" analysts back pedaling on their holier than thou, set in stone, predictions.
