Walt Harris on IR.

http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=2501

Didn't see any threads talking about this. Sorry if it's been addressed. I'll just C&P the good part:
Quote:
The Redskins have signed wide receiver Dameane Douglas, defensive back Ryan Clark and kicker Ola Kimrin, the team announced on Saturday.
To make room for the new players, the team released Dennard Wilson and offensive lineman Quinn Christensen and placed veteran cornerback Walt Harris on the active/physically unable to perform list.
What happened to Harris?

Nevermind. He never quite re-habbed from the knee surgery:

does this lower his impact on the cap and can he come back off the IR anytime this season since this was done during the preseason?

i think it has to be 5 games on IR to not count or something... regardless of when you're placed on it, unless he gets cut or traded of course

Actually, Harris is on the active PUP list, as opposed to the reserve PUP list, which means he can be removed from the list at any time. The reserve PUP list would have deactivated him for the first six games of the regular season.

The Injured Reserve list is entirely different, and deactivates the player for the entire season.

I believe the catch is, though, that once Harris is removed from the list, the team will have to clear roster space for him.

This move has no impact on the salary cap in relation to Harris, as far as I know.

hmm. Hopefully we dotn have to many injuries this year. Injuries make and break a teams season... I hope Harris heals quickly, I considered him one of our xfactors on defense. I think that all these years of being a starter will allow him to excel and make some plays as a nickel back.

Hate to hear this news about Harris. They're counting on him to provide depth at DB.
