Superbowl stories
I figured I'd put this in the off topic forum to not clutter up the locker room...
Super Bowl question for older guys: When the Redskins won the superbowl back in '92... how freaking nuts was the city? I was 6 the last time we won a super bowl, so I don't really remember much of anything. Are the streets flooded with euphoric Redskins fans? Is it chaos? I'm really hoping we'll get to see one soon, before I marry and have kids. I would love to be able to run rampant in the streets of D.C. naked and screaming "HTTR!" at the top of my lungs. (slight exaggeration, but you get the point) I can remember when we won our last playoff game, me and like a pack of 20+ people ran around banging pots and pans screaming HTTR, it was probably the most fun I've ever had to date. Share some stories with the forum, regardless of where you were... what did you do? I'm sure everyone would love to hear them.

Re: Superbowl stories
I think this a great thread!
I was living in Newport RI and in High School, I was born in Fairfax, Va. but grew up in Newport (DOD Brat). I have been a Skins all my life! In 91 I felt like we couldn't lose because it had been so long since our last Super Bowl Title (little did I know). I can remeber the whole day. I watched every pre-game show possible. It was information overload I had the worst headache by kickoff. At kickoff someone pranked called my house twice and that really pissed me off. I am sure it was one of my friends giving me shit. the game itself didn't have much drama considering the outcome but I know I had a smile on my face the whole time. It is kind of surreal after your team wins it all (I had the same feeling after the 2004 Red Sox) it is kind of like a "what next attuide" and you then realize there is no next. I can only hope someday to see the Skins back there. My only grip about winning it all is the fair weather fans come out of the wood work. I have just started now wearing my Red Sox hat again. |

Re: Superbowl stories
The season was just as great as the Super Bowl. The team was a machine hitting on all cylinders. Offense, defense and special teams were amazing rolling to a regular season record of 14-2. They cruised through the playoffs crushing the other teams, there was no doubt about taking it all. The first play of the season the defense intercepted the ball, it just seemed to set the tempo. The Super Bowl was the icing on the cake.
