How did we look vs. the Ravens?
Hey guys I know that the game was delayed and later cancelled early, but how did everyone look? I know that we won, but how did the D play as well as the Offense with Todd Collins starting at QB? Also no coverage on Sportscenter at all.

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
The D looking very good again, although I would like to see some turnovers come from the first team. The offense was sloppy. A bunch of penalties and not much from the run or pass. Moss had a great grab early, but that was really it. Special teams looked solid.

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
Offense: Running game was inept, Collins had a nice 40yd pass to Moss to start the game, I believe Randle El had 4 recs, and Lloyd had 1 rec. Sellers fumbled on a swing pass, other than that there wasn't to much going on, I believe we ended up with 115 total yards.
Defense: The D looked good for a third straight preseason game, Landry had a few nice plays, along with Carter, Fletcher, Blades, Rogers. Sean Taylor missed another big hit on Steve McNair, but I believe he ended up with 2 tcks. Trucks, and Prioleau nailed Boller causing the ball to fly up in the air, and Sartz made the Int, and returned it for a TD. Only negative things I could pick out were the Defense seemed to be overpursuing a lot, and we had a bit of trouble covering the intermediate routes, but thats about it. |

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
Collins was 8-15 for 88 yards. For me he looked, ok at best.
We didn't get a chance to see Brunell for more than a couple of passes, both were incomplete. The defense on the otherhand looked stellar. Landry was a beast as usual. Trucks + Prioleau put a massive hit on Kyle Boller which caused a fumble and our only touchdown of the game. But there is still the concern of not being able to put consistent adequate pressure on the QB. Overall the offense looked downright scary, but personally I think it was because of that fact that half of our starters weren't starting. There was absolutely no running game. At all. What was our longest rush of the game? Like 12-13 yards or so at most? It was borderline terrible. If I had to rate the 2 and 1/4 quarters I saw between 1-10 I'd give it a 6.5 at best.

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
Thanks guys I appreciate it. The offense worries me but I hope once we get all of our chess pieces lined up in the right places hopefully they wil turn it on.
Great to hear about the D to. Would definatley have liked the Starting D to have caused a TO but the fact that they only held the Ravnes starters to 7 works well to. Once again thanks for the report. Hail! J

I think the first 4 plays of the game Landry was involved. The man is an absolute beast! He laid a hit on McNair and it looked like he hurt him. Stuck him right in the ribs.

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
my biggest beef with our team right now is the longest run of the preseason is 6 yards. I realize we're missing half our line, but still. Our running game has looked inept, I hope that doesn't transfer over.

I don't believe our offensive line is near good enough to pound the ball on the ground on a consistent basis. Yes Saunders has brought in a proven offensive scheme, but we don't have the horses up front to run it, and we are not sure if Campbell is capable of executing it? |

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
Kendall did not play.
The defense did pretty good considering that Springs didn't play at all, and Griff didn't play very much. Tackling was a bit off, and there was a bit of a keystone cop moment on that Mason td. I know JLC doesn't think so but I feel like Collins has definitely pulled pulled away in the race for backup QB. Maybe it's just me on that one though. |

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
The defense is converging well on the ball, which is great to see. The young guys are adapting great to Williams' defense. Give Taylor 12" and he would have ended McNair's season on that hit!!! A couple of open running lanes up the middle in the 2nd half, but the first team looked great.
The offense looked good with Collins at the helm. The run game has not been very productive, but look at the defenses we have played against, all of them are tough to run on for any offense. The 30-40 yd pass play they keep running up the left side usually has an open receiever and I have seen Jason hit them in stride, I hope there are more variations of this play! |

Re: How did we look vs. the Ravens?
I for one am not impressed with Collins as our #2. This guy looks like he has no fire in his belly to run a high powered offense. He needs to have the clip board in his hand, and not a football. Our running game is terrible because of several things: Betts only runs like a series or two and then from there we trot out our third and fourth option on the depth chart (where in the hell is Rock?). Our offensive line is trying to find it's way with current players in uniform right now. Our offensive line coach is a little late on trying to find a replacement for Dock, and the Wade experiment has failed. This issue really concerns me, because as your line goes your offense goes. Buges is apparently scanning daily the waiver wires, and trying to grab up anybody with a descent pedigree to help out. Also, our premadona running back is sandbagging this preseason just because he can, and the coaches let him. And one final analysis, is it me or does it seem that our receivers are not getting enough seperation? Because it seems to me that the FEW completions that this team has converted, there were multiple defenders all over the receiver. This could also be another factor of our O-line is not giving the qb enough time to work through the progressions. Throwing into double and triple coverage is flirting with trouble. Also, I'm not too comfortable with the fact that we are picking-up roster cast-offs, or guys that have been out of football for some time. This tells me that our caoching staff is not cconfident with the current players wearing B/G. Yeah, I guess we've had some success in the preseason, but I'm by no means warm and fuzzy with the product on the field.
