Washington out at least a week, Campbell day-to-day

Marcus Washington is out at least a week. Jason Campbell is officially "day-to-day." Given the circumstances of their injuries, the Washington Redskins couldn't ask for much better news.

That is pretty much exactly what I heard Joe say in his presser today. GREAT NEWS!

I would be in no rush to get either one of these guys back on the field, let's get through the rest of the pre-season....hopefully injury free. Get the rest of the guys back healthy and ready to roll week one against Miami.

Could have been MUCH worse!

Honestly, when I saw that Campbell hit...my heart broke. VERY few times to do you see a leg bend that way and it NOT be a torn ACL/MCL/PCL, ect. Thats good news on Marcus too. I thought he'd be out a bit longer as well.

I'm ok with JC playing if he's healthy--he needs to keep working on that timing with the WRs. Let's just protect him, for god's sake!!!

As for Marcus, no need to rush it. The LBs are playing well, and we can work Marshall, K Campbell and Blades.

Very good news.

That's great news, we couldn't have gotten any luckier. Too bad about Espy though as it seemed as he was going to take the 5th receiver spot. Now we may end up with Pinkston.

I mean i am happy about the campbell and washington but espy thing sucks. He was going to be number 5 in my opinion for sure. That raises an interesting question at that spot. I am for jason mccadley. He can play special teams also which is a great bonus.

Re: Washington out at least a week, Campbell day-to-day

I think you gotta give Campbell some more snaps if its just a bruise with minimal swelling. If that is the case, he cannot make the injury worse by playing on it, albeit for a little stiffness/soreness. You can't shut down essentially a rookie QB after week 2 of the preseason just because he narrowly evaded a catastrophic injury. We got lucky, everyone knows it. Gibbs has the right idea. He needs to play if he can. Every snap is critical for his timing and confidence. Even if its just a couple series per game for the final two weeks.

Also, gotta think that Campbell walking away from that is a sign of something special to come

I say one more series in the last preseason game and I'm done.

We dodged two serious bullets here.

If we were talking today about Campbell being out for the year, I seriously think I would be clinically depressed.

That would be my choice too. ANYONE other than Pinkston would be OK though.
