Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
I love it. He's going to have a huge year. From today's Post
"Three out of my five years I played with a chip on my shoulder. When I finally got comfortable, when I felt that I had arrived and was at the top of my platform, in the eye of being a superstar, that I got relaxed. I relaxed and ended up getting hurt and then all of a sudden everything you've done is forgotten about. So right now, I'm stepping out like a rookie. I have to prove to the world that I'm still the same dangerous 2-6 that set the examples of the NFL." |

Never seen a mike that he didn't like. Believe none of what you hear, and half of what you see.

Re: Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
I liked hearing what CP had to say as well. Sounds like lots of the team is on this vibe--humble, something to prove, etc.
But until we have some results on the field, it's all talk.

Re: Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
I want to see it on the field as well. However, if there are good vibes going on with the team....a team first vibe, this is good mental place for the players to be at. Even though football is a physical sport, it is also a mental one as well, and you have to be just as mentally fit (except if you're a half crazed LB, then you want to be mentally unfit..lol) as well as physically fit.

Re: Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
What really pisses me off is they talk like last year no one on the team wanted to win and this year we are all motivated. You know what you should feel that way all the time. Are they really telling the truth now or what?

Re: Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
Hype, pure hype, spewed out for media consumption and to get the fans excited for this season. How does this guy have a chip on his shoulder? The dude gets paid ungodly money to run with a oblong leather ball and score TD's and he does it very well!!! Why does he have a chip on his shoulder? Just cliche.

Re: Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
I don't know about that, Gus--you do see players act differently, and occasionally it reflects in what they do on the field. All of these guys are paid ungodly sums of money to run around in tight trousers, etc. But CP and the skins do sound different this year, even taking the usual amount of hype into account. (Or so it seems to me from my all-seeing vantage point at my computer! )

Re: Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
He got a bit complacent last year, coupled with the injuries I think it was definitely a wake up call and a learning experience for CP. I see him bouncing back strong this year.

I'm from the show me state.... He's got to go out there and blow up the other teams defenses.

Re: Sounds Like CP Has A Chip On His Shoulder
Not to mention he has a guy behind him who statistically outplayed him last year. That's motivation to me.
