Dual 100 Yard Rushers
Does anyone know what team holds the rcord for most games with two running backs going over 100 yards? I'm not sure it's a kept stat. It's not in the Redskins press guide as far as I can tell.
My other question is this: Which of the following reflects your best guess as to how Portis and Betts will fare together now that they are both known to us as star backs? 1. One or the other will shine but not both. One will have say 1400 yds and the other around 250. 2. They will be like Byner and Ervins or Franco and Bleir (sp?). One with 1200 and the other with say, 600. 3. They will share the load equally and each threaten the 1000 yard mark. Has that ever been done? I don't believe it has. I would have to be a number 2 with Portis at about 12 or 1300 and Betts with say 550 and 40 receptions. Any thoughts?

Re: Dual 100 Yard Rushers
Mexico and Dunn both went over 1000 yards last year for ATL. I know MV isnt a RB but that is still pretty impressive.

Re: Dual 100 Yard Rushers
I'll say 1300 Portis and 700 Betts.

Re: Dual 100 Yard Rushers
Kind of random to predict an ACL injury for Portis, isn't it? I wouldn't call that a prediction so much as a complete wild guess.

Re: Dual 100 Yard Rushers
Portis runs for 3,000 with 45 TDs and smashes all rushing records... damn I'm playing too much Tecmo lately.

Re: Dual 100 Yard Rushers
Well, in 2005 Portis had 1,500 and Betts had 350. I think we'd all say Betts came a long way this year and Portis could probably use a load taken off, how about 1,150 and 750? Just to be 'scientific' about the thing I went back and looked at KC's stats from 2004. Though Holmes did get hurt about halfway through that season, both Blaylock and Johnson went over 500 yards (oh, and Priest did manage 14 TDs before going down). Wouldn't mind seeing some rushing stats like that (21 rushing TDs, 2,000+ rushing yards)... and, oh yeah, we have Blaylock now too.
| Derrick Blaylock | 12 | 118 539 4.6 8 | 25 244 9.8 1 | | Priest Holmes | 8 | 196 892 4.6 14 | 19 187 9.8 1 | | Larry Johnson | 10 | 120 581 4.8 9 | 22 278 12.6 2 |

Re: Dual 100 Yard Rushers
You guys seem to forget that this is like the first season Betts didn't sit out a bunch of games with injury. He has yet to prove that he is durable. So Portis starts and Betts is a backup. 1700 Portis and 450 for Betts

If Betts is the main ball carrier in 11 games he'll cost us 4 with his fumbles and none of us want to live thru that.
