So what you're telling me is...

Our front office is on Defcon 5 to find some replacement LB's to cover for the fact that Marcus Washington and Rocky McIntosh are too fragile to be relied on.

The least they can do is not make it so obvious for other teams to know our weakness. Now I'm really concerned with our starting LB's. I didn't know the M. Washington injury was so severe.

By the way, what year is our pass rush going to be addressed. Because our pass rush was a detriment during our playoff run in 2005, now 2007 and we still have only made one transaction for positive in that department(A. Carter). Finding a long term solution for DE is paramount.

Who said MW injury was so severe and Rocky fragile? How do you hide your picks....it's the draft. They were talkin about Briggs for months, it's no secret we are interested in LB's.

It's a depth issue.

Re: So what you're telling me is...

The Skins are making too obvious that LB is going to be our weakness this coming year. The Briggs talk and drafting all these LB's means the expectations are low for LB corp.

I heard that M. Washington is not going to be the same player after the surgery that was performed on his hip. No citiations provided, hearsay only.

With Fletch in the Middle, and the rotation we will have on Outside/Weakside, I think it will be JUST the OPPOSITE.

I haven't heard a word on MW after the hip repairs....but I'm sure he will be just fine.

I don't think we're going to be as weak at LB as everyone thinks. I like this Dallas Sartz kid...not so high on the kid from Pitt though.

GREAT depth? You're kidding right? Aside from the starters, we have Lemar Marshall (who hurt us more than he helped us last year and turns 32 this year), Khary Campbell (never anything more than a special teamer), Anthony Trucks (WHO?), and two late round rookies who aren't even assured a roster spot ant this point. That's not "GREAT depth." That's poor depth.

Why would it be poor depth? All starters are solid. Fleetch isn't coming out, MW and Rocky are full timers. Cambell is depth. Lemar could go....if he stays, more depth. Doesn't sound like you know anything about Trucks?

And we signed Blades and Startz, how is that not Great depth. I bet alot of teams would like to be in this BAD OF SHAPE at LB.

With 2 30+ year old backups, drafting a guy in the 6th round of the draft shows that they have no faith in Jason Campbell? Please explain that to me.

EDIT: Misunderstood the previous post...lol

Umm, one of our starters has never been a starter and is coming off knee surgery (Rocky), another starter is coming off hip surgery (Marcus), and the third is 32 years old (Don't get me wrong, I think Fletch will be a beast).

Behind them, Marshall is the only player who has ever seen any real action, and he's a 32 year old converted MLB who was just not very good at all last year. Do YOU know anything about Trucks? He's an undrafted practice squad player who has never played a single down in the NFL. And then we have 5th and 6th round rookies.

That is poor depth. It just is man.

I agree. If he was the best available, with this probably being MB last year. You have to plan for the future.

This doesn't have ANYTHING to do with what they think of Jason Cambell! You have to have a young backup at some point. Good Move.

Well I guess you can look at it how you choose. But you only need three LB's on the field. We have EIGHT!

For rotation and depth, what would you recomend geting a couple more LB's. Are LB core is good to go.

Re: So what you're telling me is...

Both LB's are ok picks. The Fox scouting says that Blades would be a liablity during passing situations, and that he has short arms. Dallas is just undersized for a guy with his frame, but still a decent pick. Still think we should have traded our picks(except #6) this draft for some more upper to mid level ones next year.

I disagree. Sure, it's not all pro depth...but who has that anyway? We have a decent starting 3, and we have viable depth to give them breathers. If all three starters go down, we are in serious trouble...but what team wouldn't be?
I really think this Sartz kid could be someone to steal a position away in a year. You can't count out heart! (miles and miles of heart)
