Got to work can't make it. I'm gonna have to keep my headphones on so I can listen to it on the radio.

I think I might just go. Maybe a warpath.net meetup would be in order if enough people go.

Re: Fedex Draft Party, Anyone going?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just remembered. It is f...ing Maryland day on draft day. It was the same damn thing last year when i was visititing maryland but last year we didn't have a first rounder so that was fine. This year I am working on something from 10-3 on maryland day. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't even be able to watch the draft. I can't believe i forgot that these things overlapped. I am going to get out of going to work. f... that.

It's free admission but it's probably $200 to park, $20 for a beer and $15 for a little ass hot dog. I'll stay at home and get a pizza.

Lots of shit going on campus. Something for just about everybody. That is why so many people visit the campus that day. There are something like 70,000 people on campus.

Re: Fedex Draft Party, Anyone going?

MD day is actually pretty cool. Every college on campus puts on a mini-fair, showcasing the best parts of their programs. In addition, there is a 4 quarter intrasquad scrimmage (Red-White football game) as a first look at next years terps squad. I have had to work it for the past 3 years, b/c we had to show the football recruits the facilities (which is also a lotta fun). An unfortunate circumstance which this creates is that I also have not been able to watch the draft for the past few years except on a small TV in the terps weightroom between quarters. I think they time it so that halftime of the football game is approximately when the draft starts or somewhere around the 1st round. Friedgen usually likes to watch b/c one or two of our players have a chance to get picked in the first round...don't know about this year though.

Re: Fedex Draft Party, Anyone going?

My aunt is throwing a family reunion on Saturday, which also happens to be my dad's birthday. He is one of 13 kids (damn Irish Catholics)and I think all but 1 or 2 of them will be in town, so this isn't really something I can miss.
Luckily though, just about every single person in the family is a huge Skins fan, so we'll all be crowded around the TV watching the draft instead of enjoying the weather.

Re: Fedex Draft Party, Anyone going?

I went to the 2005 one and it was pretty boring. The beer was cheap from what I remember (I wasn't 21 then).

Not really worth the drive down from g-burg IMO. But I can see myself randomly going down for the hell of it.

It probably would be more fun to bring your kids or something like that. You can walk around the field and there are activities all over the place.

Re: Fedex Draft Party, Anyone going?

my brother and his 12 year old son are going with me and my 10 year old son. i'm really looking foward to it, even if it is a little boring, it's better then just sitting around the house plus my son is pretty excited about going.

Re: Fedex Draft Party, Anyone going?

thats awesome, its always good to see younger skins fans sharing the enthusiasm of the long time fans who have seen it all. esp b/c all they have to go on is stories of grandeur
