THANK GOD!!! This was a bad deal for us from the start. Im really looking forward to seeing what Rocky can do with some extensive playing time. Besides we are in prime position to deal down and pick up more day 1 picks if one of the top prospects slips to 6.

I would be astonished if we actually showed restraint and didn't end up pulling the trigger on this deal somehow. I can't think of another example of us trying to do a deal and not getting it done because we couldn't meet up on terms. We always end up bendng a little more and making the deal happen.

Re: The Last Briggs Thread? Bears Say No Deal

I don't like the fact that we actively pursued Briggs, even though he would've upgraded the LB corps which I think it was fine anyway. I do like the fact that the Skins kept a hard line on the deal and didn't do what was expected of them and that was to give up everything for Briggs. They stuck with we'll give you our first rounder and you give us Briggs and your first rounder and NO you can't have anything else. Just like the Denver deals, once they asked for more then the Skins said No give us what we want and this is all that you can have.

I really hope this is the end of it. I'd like to see them develop Rocky.

That being said, the fact that they were looking at Briggs really speaks volumes as to what they think about the 6th pick.

The Skins really want out of that pick. So much so that they were willing to trade it for a player that doesn't fill a glaring need.

I wouldn't put too much stock in any of this nonsense. Trade up, trade down, keep the pick...no one knows what they are really thinking, and they shouldn't know until we're on the clock. Personally I think that is best.

It just shows you the complete incompetence of our FO. After all the bad moves they have made why in the hell would they make this offer? You think they would have learned by now.

Hooray for us! We finally managed to not do something blunderous.

Here's to utilizing the pick for our gain.

Or it speaks volumes about what they think about Rocky. And for that matter Marshall too.
