Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
PFT reports that NFL Network is reporting that Bly signed a contract extension with the Broncos. Well, at least one rumored trade is put to bed.

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
So what's next for a CB?
Is anyone else not satisfied with the status quo? Does anyone else know what free agent CB's are available? Was Joey from blossom gay?

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
If Springs is 100% I'm fine with our corners as is.

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Agreed. Bly only wanted to come here for a payday, he's pushing 30, and we just added Smoot. He wouldn't have been worth the 5-7 year deal he wanted. Springs has got to be healthy though. And that is a big IF.

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Even if he is, do you see all of our corners maintaining 100% health all season long?
I really think we need something else. Maybe our lack of corner depth the past couple years has made me paranoid, but I want one more veteran. If it's not available, it's not available. I can't see Springs playing the entire season uninjured though. Don't forget Smoot has had his history of injuries as well.

RVD420 is going to be very disappointed that he can't start ANOTHER thread about trading for Bly.

ESPN.com - NFL - Broncos sign CB Bly to five-year, $33M contract
5 years, 33 mil including 16mil guaranteed! nice pay for a 30 yr. old cb. I hope this doesn't impact their cap $ to the point that they no longer want to trade up w/us. |

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Ole SLY BLY was just doing what everyone else in the league just happens to do. Use us as bargaining power.
If SS can stay healthy I think we are in fairly good shape at corner.

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Bly was still a steal in my mind. To put up those numbers on that bad of a team is impressive at the corner position. I'd rather him than briggs personally. Springs staying healthy is not an option, cause it never happens. And anyone who watched the skins knows that neither smoot nor rogers can keep up with #1 receivers in this league. We gotta pick.....good pass rush, or good coverage, right now we have neither, and arent addressing either one.

Now we can focus on drafting Amobi Okoye.

Good point. You would think they'd have passed that threshold long ago. Hopefully the hype surrounding LaRon Landry keeps up, and other teams (Atlanta, Carolina) are willing to move up. |

Come to think of it, was that deal (Bly + the Broncos 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Springs and our #6) ever really official? At #21, you probably lose out on the top tier defensive linemen, but I could stomach that with all the other selections better than I could Briggs and the 31st pick . |

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
is there a such thing as a sign and trade, kind of like the nba? and as long as springs stays healthy, which is a big if, the corners are fine
