mike espy
what ever happened to him,, he created quite the buzz last year when we signed him and from what i remember he was pretty good,, didnt he score a td in preseason?.. we had a few threads this year about signing this wide reciever or that one because Lloyd is a bust, but they should give him a chance if Lloyd cant deliver.. but is he even on our roster or whats the deal

Re: mike espy
I agree they should give him a chance. He DID make the active roster and actually got in the game a handful of times this year but the ball wasn't thrown his way. I think he's worth a look.
Thank God! A thread not talking about draft trades...

Re: mike espy
We should trade him for some draft picks.

Re: mike espy
Yeah he could be traded to the Patriots and then sign a 6 year $36 mill deal with a $10 mil signing bonus only to be hailed a another great pick-up for the Pats.

Re: mike espy
The Texans need a good complement to A. Johnson, we trade Espy and our 7th round pick for their 8th pick in the draft (Hey, it's the Texans, anything is possible).
Then we trade with Detroit from the 6th to the 2nd pick and the rest of Detroit's draft (Hey - it's Matt Millen, anything is possible). We parlay Detroit's draft picks into 5 all-pros with wise choices and surprising late round stars (Hey - it's the Skins front office, anything is ... oh, wait) Nevermind.

Re: mike espy
In pre season the kid looked pretty good. He's still on the active roster list, not sure if he's in the plan for depth, pratice squad, or what. The might just cut the guy, no tellin.

Re: mike espy
I'd love to see Espy make the team & get some pt as the 4th wr behind MOss, ARE & Thrash. I would also love to see B. Loyd suddenly do a 180 & become a hard working pro & good teamate cause he has ability, but I just don't see Loyd coming around. If I had to choose what was more likely, I'd say that Loyd is more likely to cause problems than catch td's.
Is it possible to put a player already under contract on the practice squad? Rather than make him inactive? |

Re: mike espy
don't want to ruffle any feathers, but guys like espy are a dime a dozen. he just looked decent because we were so talentless at that position

Re: mike espy
I dunno. He COULD be a Sultan McCullough, but the staff seemed high enough on him to put him actually in the games.

Re: mike espy
He's still a long shot, in part due to the many wr's we have that are vets, and in part I'd bet that he's not that fast & has trouble getting open against starting level cb's. Seems to have great hands & isn't afraid of the middle.

Re: mike espy
every year people get overhyped on guys that do okay in preseason games. this is just another one of those guys.... remember jesse lumsden? yeah.. either he makes the roster or he doesn't, but the overall effect on team talent would be fairly minimal.
