What are our needs now?
Now that we have Fletcher and Apparently Smoot, what is our strategy now? What area would you address and who would you try to get. I am going to put future aquisitions in a matter of position and who I hope we get.
DE: Kerney (at least bring him in for a visit) or Akaika Alama- Francis (Hawaii) DT: Alan Branch DT LG: Leonard Davis or Andy Alleman (Akron) CB (Depth): Travis Fisher & Josh Wilson (Maryland) TE (2nd String): Scott Chandler (Iowa) With Akaika I am depending on Phillips still being here a year while this kid develops, he is a great athelete What would you do... or what do you see happening?

Re: What are our needs now?
Our needs are D-line and O-line.
I would trade down and pick one of those big pass rushers in the mid to late first round and pick the best available O or d lineman with whichever pick they get for moving down. Use the draft to pick a blocking tight end and more O and D-line depth and please do not trade next year's picks for a wet ham sandwich this year. |

I would like to see the skins make a run at Daniel Graham.

He visited but hadn't signed yet - last I heard he was going to Oakland for a visit.

Re: What are our needs now?
I read the rumors about the skins dumping there FO once the draft is over - I hope that includes Vinnie C.

Re: What are our needs now?
I was just on ESPN's site and there doesn't seem to be any really good OL options after L. Davis and with so few draft picks we could find ourselves in a tough spot for any kind of decent depth.

Who's the best blocking free agent tight end out on the market?

Hmmm, Graham will probably be out of our price range. Johnson can't block the wind. Gaines is a big guy that could prove useful on the line with our new tackle (whoever that may be). Stevens is a worthless punk. Kelly...ehh. Wiggins is old and complains about not being utilized. Seidman, Stewart and Snow - I have nothing on those guys. Kinney is sort of intriguing as long as he's recovered from his knee problems.

Re: What are our needs now?
OG, C, DE and WR are deep in the draft. we could trade down and take a DE/DT later on and also grab an interior linemen (you can get starters as late as the 3rd round pretty reliably, sometimes even the 4th).
we have nearly no shot as wilson... while i'd love to have him, he'd probably fall in the hole between late 1st and late 2nd if we traded down. the kicker (crosby) would also be in about the same situation. so, draft DE at 6, or trade down and take okoye/DE/OG and then DE/OG with the 2nd rounder (though its safer to take the OG later, i do REALLY like ben grubbs). |
