Nice read on London Fletcher

Buffalo Bills, London Fletcher-Baker, Nate Clements, National Football League - CBS SportsLine.com

The Buffalo Bills linebacker is more than one of the game's high-character guys. He's one of its most productive ones, too. He led the Bills in tackles last season. He led the team in tackles the season before that. And the season before that. Heck, he led his team in tackles the past eight seasons......

Hard to hate this deal considering the guy we're getting on and off the field. He'll be one of our leaders from day one.

I love the move.

As far as this post, I really wanted to document that there are other sports writers who think Fletcher is as good as there is. Now that the skins have signed him, I wonder if everyone is going to change thier tune to "what a dumb move by the skins...".

I don't see how anyone can really criticize what the Skins have done thus far. This is the first time, in recent memory, I can think of the Skins RESIGNING core guys, making shrewd signings and letting people walk rather than overpay.

Now, let's see how the draft goes...

Yeah, I agree. We had to make a serious try for Fletcher.

Ideally you'd like those contract numbers be lower, and that makes me curious of the negotiating skills of our front office. Is that the lowest number we came up with that Fletcher would have agreed to? It's something I guess we'll never know, but I get the impression that Snyder would rather skip all the hard-bargaining and present a number that's too good to pass up -- you know, just to get things moving. That's what Danny is ... he's a mover, a shaker!

Does anyone ever wonder about how Snyder is able to get deals done so easily with Drew Rosenhaus? Many teams seem to shy away from negotiating with him--but the Skins seem to get deals done so easily with players Rosenhaus represents. I've often wondered if there is some sort of collusion going on there. Or is it that their business personalities just mesh? Just a question...

I think they get along - "they can do business" as the saying goes.

Snyder can't stand the Postons. I understand they won't even negotiate for a player who is prepresented by the Postons.

He too old. If we took care of business prior to now we'd be in a position to draft a MLB. Don't get me wrong, his stats are impressive and he may give us those numbers this year and maybe next but, would everyone be excited if we signed Ray Lewis? Those tackles take a toll.

I heard they were members of the same Elks Lodge.

I was in the he's too old crowd. But the more I think about this deal, it's not bad...not bad at all. I for one, don't think we overpaid this guy either.

heard him on the radio today liked what he said. Was very impressed. Wish the signing bounus was a little smaller since he is 32.

danny's willing to pay and drew's willing to take a good deal when he sees it. the poston's take a good deal, piss on it, and then demand more. bang made a REALLY good cartoon about it involving KWII.

Re: Nice read on London Fletcher

John Kincade is on ESPN Radio right now (Sunday 9:20 a.m.) slamming our signing for Fletcher because he's 31. He says it's "another typical Redskin move" and is indicative of why "the Redskins have been insignificant" for the past 10 years.

Please e-mail pro-Fletcher thoughts to jkshow@espnradio.com ASAP!

With all these monster deals going to average players like Dockery he picks on this move?? What a joke.
