Perspective from Denver

In case you missed it, here's a line from Jim Armstrong's column in the Denver Post:

Just wondering: With NFL free agency just over the dashboard, what no-difference makers are the Redskins going to overpay this time? ...

Rather than get angry at him for saying something a lot closer to truth than falsehood, figure out a way to channel sensible vibes to the Skins' FO as the Free Agent Open Season comes closer and closer...

Yeah, I agree that Clements deserves a top dollar deal.

I don't care about denver. I wished I lived there... but I could care-less about what they think....

Nate Clements deserves to get a high dollar deal... and redskins one should be buffalo bound shortly...

I still think smoot might find his way back... but we'll see.

We are the laughing stock of the league for our stupidity with not just free agency, but our absolute disregard for the draft.

All I ask is for consistency and credit where it's due. In 2005, you didn't hear about the shrewdness in the offseason that year where we signed pretty much ONLY Rabach.

It's just en vogue to hate on the Skins. And just as was mentioned above, we're going to "overpay" Nate Clements, in the sense that we spend a lot of money on him. Regardless, it's a position you break the bank for, even the Skins.

Yep. We're not exactly following a model for success. Let's not get screwed on every deal, no drastic overpaying, and let's not mortgage the future for the present every year.

In 2005, we did a pretty good job in the FA market. I think we got anxious in 2006 though and reverted back to old ways.

I think we did okay in 2004 - Cornelius Griffin and Marcus Washington.

Re: Perspective from Denver

i just want a top tier corner that will make teams think twice before throwing his way and that will help rogers cause they will throw more at him forcing him to play better and get more picks

Re: Perspective from Denver

Does anyone really care what a reporter from an AFC city that's half way across the country has to say?

"Oh no! A backup from Around The Horn is trying to pile on to a story that people have been talking about for years now. That really hurts."

Re: Perspective from Denver

Who sits the bench if we sign Nate?

I saw Springs shut down Steve Smith when healthy. Springs has been pro-bowl caliber as a Redskin and I've seen every snap of every game. Carlos Rogers may have to hit the bench. He dropped that ball against the Seahawks that screwed us big time. That play has been his M.O. ever since. That guy should have like 15 picks.....

What about moving Springs to Free Safety and Rogers and Nate on the corners w/ ST moving to strong??

Use our # 6 pick on Lamar Woodly in the middle or a stud DLineman.

Keep Washington on the outside and let Marshall and Rocky fight it out for the other corner.

Not bad!!

I don't know, I seem to remember lots of people "caring" about what the experts had to say about the preseason predictions for the Redskins and how they'd finish in the NFC East.

Something tells me if they were to heap us with praise we'd care then. But this organization gives them no reason to do that.
