just read in the washington times that the cardinals signed former pittsburg steelers offensive coordinater ,ken whisenhunt, as the teams new head coach. he signed for four years with an optional fifth.

Hmmm.....I wonder what's the deal with Grimm now. I wonder if the Steelers hire Chan G. from GT, is that a signal that Grimm may be eyeing the DC job in a couple of years??

12th, other then being a great offensive lineman for the hogs, why do you want grimm so bad, as a coach?

Re: ken whisenhunt is cardinals new coach

Besides him being a good coach, I think Grimm really knows how a locker room should be for a team that's hungry to win. The Redskin's players seem curiously quiet under Gibbs' reign. You know, I never hear the players talk about 'Coach Gibbs, has us ready'...or coach Gibbs prepared us well, or coach Gibbs this or that. I never hear his name on their lips unless it's solicited by the media.

Well, what does that have to do with Russ Grimm? I think he has instant credibilty from a Redskins perspective. Gibbs had it as a coach, but I'm not sure he has that ability to get his teams up, I'm not sure he still has that thing to make a team hungry. Russ has been around that for the past few years. He was around it with the Redskins and he's been there and done that with the Steelers.

Haha. Did Mrs. Gibbs tell you that?

i think gibbs still has the ability to get his team fired up and ready to play. we saw a glimps of it this past season when he, reportedly, held a team meeting and discussed how the team needed to return to playing redskins football. the team, offense especially, did show more improvement and more swagger after that meeting. gibbs was just to easy on this team, starting with training camp. i would imagine gibbs will be a lot tougher on them next season.

I beg to differ. Getting your team up after they are almost out of the playoffs is crisis management, in my opinion. He should have been talking Redskins football in training camp or after the Minny lost, not week 7,8 or 9.

I concede that the team showed improvement down the stretch, but that's has been the Skins' MO since Gibbs return. They get behind the eight ball, and they come back swinging. It seems like they only respond to adversity.

Re: Ken Whisenhunt is Cardinals new coach

Yeah, too little too late if that was Gibbs motivation point. He should of had them really fired up after losing the first game of the season.

12thMan. Not only is that our MO for the season, it seems to be the MO for the game. We either get behind early and try to fight back; or we get up early, then stop playing offense, get behind, and often fail to make a comeback.

im not sure how you can say grimm is a good coach, though. besides, these players are grown men, making millions. if that isnt motivation enough....

i understand what your saying. i just think gibbs waited too long to get on their tails. the team started strong in 05. i think all of them, players and coaches, came into this past season thinking they were better than what they really were. they didn't take training camp and the pre-season as serious as they should have.

He's been good at his present level, and that's really all we have to go on.

Sure they make millions, but they are people at the end of the day and they need to be motivated and inspired just like the average joe.

Re: Ken Whisenhunt is Cardinals new coach

i have a hard time believing grimm will get the steelers head coaching gig. it would be great if he did but i see the steelers going after a bigger name than grimm.
