New QB Coach?

How about bringing in a specialist to work with JC?

Someone who will work on mechanics and the other fundamentals.

I think JC would do very well with a Norv Turner type mentor.

Btw, Yes I know the skins have a QB coach, I think its safe to say he probably sucks.

Re: QB Coach

Isn't that what Bill Lazor does? You saying get rid of Lazor? If so? Then I'd say either bring back Musgrave or "promote" Brunell or Collins

I thinking of someone that will work on his release and footwork, and the other stuff lazor does. Someone more than a position coach. Brink back NORV!!!

Re: QB Coach

I thought Saunders liked being directly involved with developing QB techniques?

Agreed. I read in the Washingtonpost that Saunders has a very extensive offseason workout program for Campbell. Saunders seems like a very good coach for teaching footwork and release points.

Re: QB Coach

Yeah, I think adding coaches will help. Ignore that Cambell has had 6 different coaches (4 coordinators in college, Gibbs, Saunders) in 6 years and played quite well despite not practicing with the starters from July to November. I think another voice in his ear will be what it takes to get him to the next level...

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Re: QB Coach

Lazor did a good job of preparing Campbell, IMO. Plus, Saunders is clearly hands-on with his QBs. And I fully agree about NOT needing to add more coaches or change coaches with Campbell at this point. We need stability, as does JC.

Re: QB Coach

If anything else, we need to get rid of some of these coaches to streamline things. Especially CB coach and Safeties coach. Just fire one of them and call him a secondary's coach.

Because he doesn't have "Former Head Coach" ahead of his name. We tend not to value coaches much if they weren't once head coaches. Pretty soon we'll be hiring Rich Kotite.

I'm with Matty here. What makes you believe Lazor sucks? All that stuff is specifically what Lazor does.

I guess it wasnt fair to say he sucks. The point I was trying to make is that it would benefit JC to have a mentor as a QB coach. Kind of what Norv did for Aikmen and what Favre had early on in his career.

I doubt that Lazor is anything other than an X's and O's guy to campbell.

Btw, Lazors bio: http://www.redskins.com/team/cprofile.jsp?id=53

I'm honestly supprised Gibbs didnt go with one of his old dogs from the glory days.

You start a thread about a new QB coach and do not even know if ours is any good?
