Should all 4 draft picks be used for Defense?
With so few picks should the Skins use all 4 on Defense? I thought this would be a good plan at first, but with the departure of Todd Wade this offseason most likely becuase some other team will want him to start for them, I would think the team should devote at least one of their picks for a backup offensive lineman - just wanted the boards thought on this.

Honestly, I'd use them all for defense myself. Sure, more offensive line depth would be great, but you can always find other teams backups willing to depart for a little bit of cash.

I think we should try to get at least three picks for our first round pick, then we can build some depth in many areas, and not JUST defense

The lower draft picks are going to be "projects" at best. They are usually lucky to make the team is most cases. But, yes i think at least 3 on defense.

Re: Should all 4 draft picks be used for Defense?
I don't think it's a guarantee that Wade will leave. You never know. In fact, it would be very smart to lock him up, and not have to waste a pick there or go to FA.
Ummm...as far as using all the picks on defense. I don't know, they probably use at least the top two on defense, I would think. Maybe the last two on offense somewhere like along the o-line or a gem of TE would be nice. Things change on draft day. I could easily see us moving down a bit and picking up a couple of picks. It's very possible. You have to figure Brady Quinn will likely be the first pick to the Raiders. By the time we pick, it's going to be very tempting not to pass on the chance to get the kid from Penn St or Branch or Woodley (Michigan). |

Posluszny is the only pick I would be happy with if we decided to pick at #6

For some reason, he looks REALLY small to me.

242 i believe. He still has more weight to gain on his arms, which shouldnt be a problem.

I know the guys that teams pick in rounds 5-7 don't always make the team - but if you do land one or two that are impact players I would think that this would really help with dealing with the salary cap because typically these contracts for these guys are relatively small compared to a first rounder. |

Re: Should all 4 draft picks be used for Defense?
I really don't see how Wade is going to have much leverage. He's a guy that got a big money deal in Houston and was a flop. One quality start here isn't going to up his stock that much. He's a solid backup but a borderline starter.

You just know we're going to waste one of these picks on an h-back/fullback type guy.
Manuel White anyone? Nehemiah Broughton? |

Re: Should all 4 draft picks be used for Defense?
Since we don't have the h-back anymore I don't see why we would go that way.

Re: Should all 4 draft picks be used for Defense?
defense, defense, defense, and more defense. it looks as though j campbell got more and more comfortable the more he played. on offense, offensive line depth is the only position needed addressed this off season
