Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?
Nice thread.
Sports-wise, it was the roller coaster ride of last season. Sure, I was alive and remember the Skins Super Bowl win in 1991, but wasn't anywhere near the freak that I am now. In general, the trip I took with Gmanc and Daseal up to Canada prior to getting engaged ranks as one of my favorite memories. It was spontaneous as hell and I ended up hanging out with people I previously had met once. I've taken some random midnight trips during college about 300-400 miles away for the hell of it before, and those rank right up there.

I had tickets to game 6 (we swept) but I was there for the Parade. And even though it was drizzly and poor weather, over 3.5 million showed up. In fact I am in the 2005 Red Sox year book with my wife, a friend, my brother, and his (now) wife, cheering as the duck boats went by. I'll do personally later...I still have to think about it.

It's corny as all get out, but my family. When I think about where I would be right now without my wife and son, it actually scares me.

Nothing corny about that man...when you break it down to what you actually have, only family is always there.

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?
Easy.
I went to the Dallas game in DC this year. We had 1st row seats in the end zone (not dream seats), where the winning field goal was kicked. It was my first Redskins home game, and it was so completely unbelievable. Afterwards I saw a kick-ass concert, The Black Keys, at the 930 club. That definitely ranks up there as one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I flew into town the night before the game, and flew out the morning after. It was basically a power packed Sunday full of great times. I'll never forget it.

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?
I'll just go sportswise, since I dont even know where to start as far as just overall things in life....
My 21st Birthday was one of the greatest days of my life, easily. Went down to FedEx for the Redskins/Panthers game. I brought just about all my best friends down for the game with me and my parents and just had an unbelivable time, saw a great game and a great win. Otherwise, as crazy as last year was; I've never flipped out like I did after we beat Dallas this year.

My wife and son are the two easy ones. Joining the military is a good #2 mainly because it got my head screwed on straight.

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?
Finding this site....
Seriously though, a lot of great things that it's hard to pick just one. Most recently the birth of my niece this past August. Unfortunately, she was born quite ill and still has a long road to recovery but she's awesome. I'm really enjoying my responsibilities as the "cool uncle" who showers her with gifts. I wish I could see her more often to help raise her beyond just bringing fun toys for her though. It's the one thing I really miss about having moved away from home. I mean I don't have any kids of my own but it's really amazing what a grip a little baby can have on your life. I'm sure all parents here know what I'm talking about. You see that little baby and all you want to do is take care of her (or him). Ok, I'm done rambling now

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?
This is going to be a theme for a lot of people:
1 tie) The birth of my daughter two months ago. Hard to describe what it feels like to see the little tyke pop out and get placed on my wife's belly. 1 tie) Day I got married. Other proud/fond moments that don't quite compare, but are still pretty cool: The day I got a hole-in-one My honeymoon in Aruba The 'Skins 22-19 win over Dallas this year - I've been to three Redskins games in my life, and this happened to be one of em. Graduating from college Graduating from grad school Buying my house The day I the wife and I got our dog. Dogs really are great - immediate member of the family and best friend. The day when I was 8 years old and caught a foul ball off the bat of Mike Schmidt at a Phillies game.
