Re: F... wrapping presents
NO SHIT! My fiancee keeps giving me shit how I don't give a shit and put them in bags. Bags are EASY. Leave me alone. I can't stand people spending assloads on stuff that's going to be ripped off and not appreciated.

Re: F... wrapping presents
I'm 32 and I still get my mom and/or sisters to wrap my gifts that I'm giving to others, including my wife. I suck I know. If you saw my laughable attempt at wrapping you'd understand.

Re: F... wrapping presents
I try to make the recipient pay for it, though, by doing such things as wrapping gift cards in huge boxes with lots of packing peanuts. Or wrapping a CD entirely in duct tape. It really slows down the gift-opening process.

Re: F... wrapping presents
I feel like I have four thumbs when I try to wrap, it's a nightmare. My wife says I do ok but I think she's just trying to be nice.

Re: F... wrapping presents
I totally suck at wrapping presents. However, I wrap all my wife's presents as kind of an ego boost. Show her that no matter how bad she thinks she is (she really isn't, but she's a perfectionist), someone out there is that much worse!
TMC - at least an attempt was made in the use of a bag. as long as you stuffed it full of tissue paper, it's all good. if she keeps it up, tell her you'll start paying to have someone wrap for you, and that means less for her

Re: F... wrapping presents
I don't wrap anything. I just cut pieces of wrapping paper and tape it on the box.
It's a disaster the gift has more tape than wrapping paper and the patterns never line up around the stupid box. I'll wait longer in line for free gift wrapping than I do shopping or queuing at the register.

Re: F... wrapping presents
For some reason I can wrap stuff up in newspaper with no problem (all my dad's gifts are covered in the sports page) but I look like Jojo the Idiot Circus boy trying to use real wrapping paper.
Bags are absolutely key!

Re: F... wrapping presents
People are lucky if I even put the damn things in a bag. Ussually I just hand them out or put it under a blanket and go "TA DA!"

Re: F... wrapping presents
I used to pay those people in the mall to wrap, but now I pretty much do all of my shopping online since I absolutely hate those mall crowds this time of year.

I remember having to listen to one bitch complain for about 15 minutes because we had run out of gift boxes, even though it was almost 11pm on December 23rd (we were supposed to close at 10 that night). It's like "look, maybe you'd have been able to get the damn boxes if you hadn't wanted until the last minute." And then she started to go on about how we didn't have enough crap on sale so I kicked her out of the store, right in front of my manager. I thought I was going to get fired but my manager just laughed about it and told me I did the right thing. But the worst day ever to work, IMO, is December 26th. I could care less about working the day after Thanksgiving because for some reason people seemed a bit nicer, but the day after X-mas blew donkey balls. People were extra rude and basically all they wanted to do was return/exchange everything they got. Luckily I didn't work on commishion because I have feeling that on the 26th you work the hardest but make the least amount of money. Ever since that I tend to be really chill when I do holiday shopping, so that's nice.
