Have to say the defense even though Betts had another great game.

Re: Redskins/Saints MVP?

The D... they shut down one of the most prolific offenses in the league today. The O-Line looked dominating too, but they've been doing that the past few weeks... the difference was the D against that offense.

Re: Redskins/Saints MVP?

It was great to see the D making plays today against the top offense in the NFL.

They reminded me of the 04' and 05' defenses.

Today's victory was attributed to the D's effort especially on the Saints final drive.

Defense held the #1 O in the league to 10 points? Gotta give it to them, specifcially Taylor....

But I'll give their offense their due...16 points dosent look like much, but they played very well today. Good win!

Re: Redskins/Saints MVP?

There is no question the D deserves the MVP with its clear statistical dominance.
That D for a week takes a lot of slack off the redzone problems we had with three field goals that could have been crucial with a high power offense like NO. 16 points against NO has not done it for many teams this year when trying to beat them.
The final stop made Gibbs call on 4th and 1 the right call, the defense earlier in the year would have had the board in a uproar with that call had they let them go down field and put up 7. It is the right call all day when your D is playing like it was.
Shut down a dominate Reggie Bush who was unstoppable the past few weeks in all aspects something like 34 total yards.
Though the offensive line is a close second with a broken handed center and a back up tackle.
These two elements elevating their play makes a lot plays and decisions look really good. execution, execution and making plays of the gameplans and schemes of the coaches sure is nice.

Defense.

Their best game of the year. Even the Cushion caught one today (barely).

Re: Redskins/Saints MVP?

No way you can hold the #1 Offense in the land to 10 points and not be the MVP

Re: Redskins/Saints MVP?

I love what the o-line has done lately but the defense was absolutely beast today against the #1 offense in the league coming off an insanely big win on the road last week. Andre Carter is looking more and more worth it each week and was robbed by 1 or 2 more sacks by o-linemen holding him and it not getting called. and on that play that was supposed to be a flea flicker by the saints, if deuce actually threw that back to Brees as planned, Carter had himself a safety. plus it was nice to see Rogers not drop that int like he has a handfull of times this year, even though he came kind of close to dropping it for a second.

Re: Redskins/Saints MVP?

I'm giving it to the D, they played great today. They shut down Brees and the rest of New Orleans offense. Rogers suprisingly caught a pick today as well. I seriously hope it gives the kid some confidence and it becomes a regular occurence, he had to get out of his slump.
