Can you hear me now?
I had such a bad day yesterday. First off I had to work 16 hours and I knew that would be the case when I got to work yesterday.
Next, while visiting the john, I dropped my $250 cell phone in the drink and it went down. #@$%!!!! Luckily my company is going to replace it because I lost it while on the job. I am so mad at myself over this whole situation. The bad part is all of the data I had saved on my phone is lost(buisness contacts, schedules and alot of other shit). I also lose all of the ringtones and games I had downloaded. This really sucks ass. All total, I lost over $300 right down the shitter........literally! Has anybody else ever done anything like this before???? |

Re: Can you hear me now?
My sister's dropped hers in and was able to fish it out before flushing. Her friend not so much. Flush not 1, not 2 but 3 phones down the drain.
One of my coworkers flushed the key to her car a few weeks ago. Natually one of those laser cut ones, that are like 200 to replace.

Re: Can you hear me now?
A replacement phone was $224 after tax. Of course I didn't have the insurance before but I got it now.

Re: Can you hear me now?
The toilet that the phone is in is not working either. Its the only one in the mens bathroom so all the guys have been totally funking up the ladies bathroom.

Re: Can you hear me now?
I dropped my phone in the pisser once, but I got lucky because it was as the water was refilling after I flushed; so I was able to get it before it got all filled with my tinkle. At first it didn't work but it turned out I just needed a new battery.
I felt a little weird using it again at first, but I was in college at the time and couldn't afford a new one so I stuck with it for another year or so. Has anyone ever been so unfortunate as to drop anything important in a portable toilet? That's one of my biggest fears and why I will never attempt to talk on the phone when I'm within about 10 feet of one of those things.

Re: Can you hear me now?
That's a pretty bad day there...Speaking of bad days, what's the worst day you have ever had?
Mine was back when I was in college. I had a Physics tests and if that's not enough things just got worse. Everything that could have go went wrong. I left my wallet at home. My bank wouldn't give me money from my account without ID. I left my calculator at home. The girl I was seeing told me it was over. Basically, I had no money, no way to get home, pretty fucking hungry all day long, and I had no calculator for my physics test. Needless to say I bombed that test. All in all it was a pretty shitty day.

Re: Can you hear me now?
Damn, that sucks. When I'm on the toilet, there's only one thing I'm focused on -- and it's not my phone
Probably not my worst day, but pretty bad: 1. Went to Universal Orlando for some halloween thing, and it pretty much sucked. The ticket cost $60 and I only went in one haunted house -- because the lines were a 1 hour wait, or longer. Who wants to pay to wait in line? That'll be the last time I do that. 2. So, the event sucked, and I'm driving home at 2am. I'm going 100+ on the interstate, when I get pulled over. The cop was feeling "nice", so he dropped my ticket to 98 mph (in a 70) ... apparently anything over 30 mph over the limit, and you must appear in court. (mind you, I was the ONLY car on the road). The speeding ticket was $200. 3. The drive back from Orlando is about 2 hours, and I'm was too tired to make it. I stopped and slept in my car for a couple hours, which killed my back. 4. Just as I'm pulling into my apartment, I notice an indicator on my dashboard for low tire pressure. It turns out I had a leak. The leak was in the side-wall, so it was irreparable. I had to buy a new tire, which cost about $375, plus installation (another $25). All in all, I wasted a Saturday night at a shitty event waiting in lines, and it only cost me about $650.

Re: Can you hear me now?
Sorry guys, I am about to bring down the crowd.
My worst day. January 30th, 04. My wife was having labor pains, I rushed her to the hospital. On the way to Roswell, a truck tipped over and debris was all over the southbound highway (I was going northbound). The wind (of course just as I am driving by) picked up and blew veggies and cardboard all over the car. (over $600 in damage). When I reach the hospital, the baby and my wife were in danger, so they flew her to Albuquerque and I had to drive the 3 hours by myself. On the way, the radio malfunctions. (covered by warrenty, but a 3 hour drive with no music and the thought that your wife and child are in danger is not a good drive). I get to the hospital in Albuquerque and my wife is next to unconscious. I am informed her liver and kidney's have shut down completely, and her heart is pumping at only 35% capacity. They then inform me, that they need to enduce. My daughter died at birth. My wife came within 1 inch of dieing as well. They gave her medicines that prevented a stroke (she had a blood pressure of 235 / 175) and heart medications. She woke up around 5 days later. I ended up getting mono, due likely to stress since I had no vacation and lost 2 weeks of salary on top of the thought of losing a wife and losing a child. My mother called me that night and I told her what was going on, she had the nerve to tell me she was getting a divorce from my biological father (not a big deal for me, I haven't spoken with him in 10 years...long story) and my dog died (poor guy was 13 years old). To this day it bugs me that she threw that on me at that time, but that's life huh. After my wife woke up (ok, not that day, but is a componant of that day) we were told by 9 doctors that if my wife gets pregnant again, it WILL kill her. That was our 1 and only shot at a child. Again, sorry for bringing down the crowd, I'll go to the other threads and get positive. Just thought I'd share my worst day ever.

I have considered adoption, but don't have balls to pull the trigger. I am afraid of getting a huge problem from some crazy couple that didn't want their kid. I know the positives, but that negative lives in the forefront of my mind. I actually have an offer from one of my employees to be a serogate. The money it costs for either are beyond my financial means though.

Re: Can you hear me now?
Thanks.
When I have bad days, I think of January 30th, 04 and suddenly my bad day is not so bad. My wife and I vacation every year at that time just to get away from our thoughts / memory of that day. We'll be vacationing on Freedom of the Seas the first week in February. It will double as our 10 year anniversary, and in remembrance of that day.
