Another poor play calling game by Gibbs

Chance to go ahead in the 4th quarter, Skins down but with the ball inside the 10. Gibbs again has TJ Duckett and at times Betts on the sidelines. All the personell changes in the world ain't gonna give us good clock managment or playcalling in the redzone.

I agree.

The feild goal call on 4th and 1 AFTER we took a timeout pissed me off for two reasons.....

a) You dont take a time out to kick a FG in that situation. That timeout (although we prob wouldnt have driven 80 yards in :37 seconds, gives us at least a chance to win)
b) What the hell do we have to lose?

Re: Another poor play calling game by Gibbs

Yeah - two of those field goals on fourth down should have been attempts for the first down or for the endzone. We were down 21-3 and went for a field goal - just go for the f-ing touchdown, it's not like we've got a lot to lose. Playing conservatively has gotten us nowhere...we need some killer instinct.

I amazed we came within 2 points of winning frankly.

Stupid time out is all you can really say about that, and maybe he had Duckett in if you want to go there but honestly drawing it intoa 2 point game an dhaving faith in out defense when they are playing well is not a bad thing.

They are thinking, gee we play not to lose this game, although we aren't playing for anything but pride at this point, and they aren't willing to lay the cards out on the table.

At least we kept calling those outside runs. I think there were probably about 10 of them that combined for -13yrds. It's nice to see them stick with what isn't working.

Yes, kicking the final FG down by 5 was purely candy-assical. It made us look like we're afraid to lose, which of course, we did anyway. We're a lousy football team, and beating the Eagles and hurting their playoff chances would have gone a long way toward boosting our confidence. Terrible decision by Gibbs & Co.

I REST MY CASE FROM ALL OF LAST WEEK!

It certainly just keeps getting stronger!!! Sorry to all the "faithful"

btw, if AZ wins, there are only THREE, that is 3 teams that have worse records than us. THREE of 32!

Anyway, no need to keep stating the obvious... way to go Gibbs.

okay fine... maybe only 95%. no doubt in my mind betts scores in the red zone there on our last drive. betts scores, we win.

duckett in the game, we lose. just one of many bad play calls/game management decisions.

Re: Another poor play calling game by Gibbs

Our defense was playing pretty well up until the last Philly drive when we couldn't stop them. I don't think it was that bad of a call to kick the FG and put it in the hands of the D to get the ball back. If we would have just finished some of those awesome drives we had with TDs it would have been a different story. Kind of difficult to pin the game on one FG, IMO.

They were saying on the radio that Betts might have been winded which is why they pulled Betts down near the endzone.

maybe so, but if he hadn't put in duckett, then u would be complaining about how 'duckett wasn't used properly'. i know that is what would of happened, don't even say that you wouldn't say that.

Nah man, people only say that whenever Betts/Portis gets stuffed. Then it's all, "where was Duckett?" I used to do that. Well, I'll stand up and say I was wrong. I said Duckett was a better runner. I was 100% wrong. Betts is the better runner.
