Apocalypto
Just got back from the movies. I have never seen as many people walk out of a movie and I just can't understand why. Yes its very violent and will "shock" you. I mean, what did they expect? Bunny rabbits in the prairies?
It's a great movie...go see it.

Re: Apocalypto
If I tell you I'd be divulging too much information about the movie plot.

Re: Apocalypto
Good to know.
I just saw "The Fountain" and it blew me away. It's a very metaphorical movie that has lots of symbolism thrown in your face. It's kinda alot to take in at once, and when I saw it I think i said "what the F..." at least 15 times trying to figure out what was going on. The director get's crafty with the special effects as well. Apparently he used a grant from Australia, in cahoots w/ a doctor in fluid dynamics, to take 3 dimenisonal photos of underwater bacteria. There's alot of star/galaxy scenes in the movie and the effects blow you away. Kinda neat, cause he used very little CG effects. Darren Aranofsky is the name of the director and he's known for some pretty f'd up movies. He did "requiem for a dream" and "Pi"... very crazy surreal independent-esque films. He also is engaged with Rachael Weisz, the chick who stars in "The Fountain". Some random little stuff for whoever is interested. Go see it if you like it when directors f... with your heads.

Re: Apocalypto
I read that in one scene a guy gets stabbed in the chest, his heart cut out, and beheaded. Apparently there is a lot of that in the movie.

I heard Blood Diamonds is very good--anyone seen it? I'm not a big DiCaprio fan, but I read a great review of it.

Re: Apocalypto
agreed. a very visually stunning movie. a strong story, great acting, and as said earlier a very well paced story. it wasn't close to as good as braveheart was like I had heard from some people, but I still highly recommend it. as others have stated though if u have a weak stomach don't even bother.

Re: Apocalypto
Do you get kind of desensitized though to all the violence after it's been on display so much throughout the movie? I mean I haven't seen it, but I could imagine that happening
