Gibbs will be back next year

ESPN.com - NFL - Gibbs plans to return as Redskins coach next year

"There is no equivocation. I plan on going forward and being the coach again," Gibbs said. "As long as I feel like this is where I'm supposed to be, I'm going to be here."

Good. I kinda thought he would when he benched Brunell. He knew he needed to get the kid some playing time so that he could produce next season. It just makes sense for Gibbs to come back. Why would he wanna go out after this? He's grooming a young qb and he's got a good core. They need to tweak the lineup just a little, not blow the whole thing up and go ahead with the talent they have. I'm glad he's coming back.

Re: Gibbs will be back next year

Its funny this thread was right above the Gibbs must go thread. This is kinda old news which I heard him say that about a week or two ago. With all that has gone wrong this year I still believe that Gibbs can figure this out. It sould also be Saunders 2nd year with us and our O should have better grip on his play book. With all that has been said about GW he sould also be back next year because you cannot judge him on only this year. These guys have been around long enough to figure out what went wrong with this year and make the changes. I also feel that they will change how they approach our mini camps, training camp, and preseason. They took those way to relaxed last year which I feel was one of their biggest mistakes of this year.

Re: Gibbs will be back next year

This sounds really good. I read it when I was in "the office" for my morning drop off and I was happy to say the least. I say he brings back the coaching staff but I think some of the Assistants to assistants may be leaving. GW comes back again with a fire to right the wrongs of this year and the Crypt Keeper comes back and hopefully has his offense geared up and ready to go. I think Gibbs will have more input during the offseason as far as the "identity" of the O than he did earlier in the year. Looking at that Falcons game I think he had something to do with some of the plays and the formations. I'm f'n siced ! LET'S GO SKINS !!!!!!!!

yes, Gibbs will adjust all of that & will tweak his mgmt. style more than the lineup. He's proven he's a great leader & manager, I think every year he's made mistakes as he's learning the Team Prez job, but at the same time he's already learned from those mistakes & will be coming back next year under the radar.

Maybe they'll change the way they make draft selections and personnel decisions. All I want for x-mas is a GM. (no, please lets not start the great debate, its just an opinion)

No. I remember OBC saying he wasnt going anywhere. Gibbs hasnt given a completely straight and truthful answer to any question this season to the point I am starting to wonder if he's planning to run for political office. I do think he will return but if he did go I would not be shocked.

OBC didn't have a choice though, totally different circumstances.

nothing will change... we will not make the playoffs again under Joe Gibbs 2.0, i guarantee it. Just look at us compared to the rest of the division. Pencil Dallas in for the division for the next 2+ years. Philly continues to re-load. NYG have potential if Eli gets better. And they all have the flexibility to improve. We do not.

Plus, Joe Gibbs 1.0 was a genius. Joe Gibbs 2.0 is submissive and incompetent, to be blunt!

I'm not sure where I heard this but about two weeks ago Gibb's said he was not going anywhere until this thing gets fixed. Thats almost a quote of what he said.

No need to continue to toss gas on the fire, let's not carry that other conversation over here. Thanks
