Bearish Season Prediction
11/5 vs. Cowboys 1pm ET FOX 11/12 @ Eagles 1pm ET FOX 11/19 @ Buccaneers 1pm ET FOX 11/26 vs. Panthers 1pm ET FOX 12/3 vs. Falcons 1pm ET FOX 12/10 vs. Eagles 1pm ET FOX 12/17 @ Saints 1pm ET FOX 12/24 @ Rams 1pm ET FOX 12/30 vs. Giants 8pm ET NFL Network
that is the remaining schedule... Our side, Our O can't score, and Our D can't stop people from scoring... That being said, lets see how we end up, and lets not forget, we have gotten blown out by dallas but for carwright's return, same with the colts and Randle El. Dallas: Thought this was a win, but Romo looks good and we can't stop the run. God I hope we win. Eagle: mcnabb will find his touch vs our secondary...3 tds easy. each game. Bucs: Not a good team but neither are we...we'll see Panthers: Solid Team. smith gets 2tds and 160 yards. foster runs for 130 and 1 td. Peppers gets 3 sacks. Falcons- vick has tossed for 300 and 3 tds past few weeks...do you really think we stop him? 2 tds thrown, 1 run, dunn gets in as well. Saints- Solid team. 2 tds for brees. 1 for duece and maybe bush. same for rams. Giants: repeat of game in meadowlands uness they are benching their starters.... i truly don't see a win (besides bucs), but think we will pull out 2-3. 4, if god really smiles upon us... I wish i were kidding, but i think we are looking at 4-12 or 5-11... hopefully Portis will dominate, and some of these predictions wont come true...fact is, the MOST we'll ever get out of brunell is 2 td and 225 (which is a large step up from current production)- and he cant do that week in, week out.

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
Do you guys really think our secondary is going to suck this bad when we have both starting corners back? Remember, it was GREAT when both Springs and Rogers were in there last year. I'm still worried about the run defense, but pass defense should be much improved. We won't have Archuleta playing a position he's not supposed to be playing.

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
i do...i love springs, despite his being injury prone, but Rogers is not up to speed yet. He's been consistently burned by WRs no matter who he's been matched up against. while he's seen higher caliber WRs this year, having filled in for Springs, he's been burned badly...i don't think many would consider Williamson from the Vikings or anyone on the titans to be considered legit No. 1 guys. If plexico is covered, toomer will score. if TO is covered Glenn will score. if Stallwort is covered, brown will score. if steve smith then k johnson.

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
Please tell me who he has been consistently burned by besides Troy Williamson. It's been rare.

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
I don't feel like getting the exact stats, but Rogers has only given up two TDs this year. That's like a fraction of the rest of the secondary. Add in the fact that we'll have Springs on the other side AND Rogers playing where he was meant to, and we'll be fine.

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
As a fan of the Redskins, I don't see a point to this thread other than that maybe you're suggesting we don't watch the remaining games because we'll give up at 21 points and lose every game.
Here's my Bullish Season Prediction: Dallas: This is a win, but Romo looks like a homo and we stop the run. God I hope we win. Eagle: mcnabb will find his receivers covered ...3 INT's easy. each game. Bucs: Not a good game for the Bucs...we'll see a totally dominating effort Panthers: Sucky Team. smith does get 2tds and 160 yards. foster runs for 13 yards and 1 fumble. Peppers gets 3 face to face meet-n-greets with Sellers. Falcons- vick has tossed for 300 and 3 tds past few weeks...do you really think we stop him? Yes! 2 INT's thrown, 1 fumble, dunn gets stopped as well. Saints- Average team. 2 tds for brees. 0 TD's for duece and probably bush. same for rams. Giants: repeat of game in Landover (2005) uness we are benching our starters....

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
Re: 724, yet another comically blind fan who refuses to legitimately look at the season prospects, but i hope he is right. i like how you simply dismiss all other talent in favor of your simple, yet elegant arguments (romo is a homo)...
as for rogers, are you really going to just soley based on TDs given up? i don't believe he's been only burned for 2, but i'll leave that alone. what about his large cushion that he gives to each of opponent allowing them to catch anywhere between 8-12 yards at will (even in 4th and 8 situations...i remind you...) I mean, lets be honest. rogers has not shown an ability to people, that is prevent them from going for bigs days when he's defending. I will attempt to locate stats for rogers, as i not have hard ones at my disposal. Do you?

As far as the original post, I'd have to agree that 5-11 seems very likely with the current state of the team, but I'll reserve my final opinion until after the Dallas game. |

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
Overall though, Rogers is an EXCELLENT tackling corner. If they show the pass in the flats, he is up on that in seconds. I didn't even see Chris Gamble do that.

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
i'd appreciate it...you are probably right (re:wright and rumph), however I still believe rogers gives up far too many first downs via his cushion...i also remember him giving up TDs, but i could be wrong. I'm not sure who tracks these stats? have to remind myself that he's only in his second year. (but also that he's a top 10 pick)

Re: Bearish Season Prediction
Well, as has been mentioned, playing on the other side of Springs will help Rogers immensely. It did last year. And, unfortunately, people tend to compare Rogers to Smoot. And Smoot is put on a higher pedestal by a lot of people just because he's no longer a Redskin. So he's seen as yet another stud we let get away. But if you look at the numbers, Smoot's really aren't better than Rogers' and Carlos hasn't embarrassed the organization with any extracurricular activities. 'LOS SMACK!
