I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
I am out of retirement. CPDAMAN, persuaded me to come out of retirement. After two days to reflect on the Titans game, I have a change of tune. I love Joe Gibbs. I realized, that while I was crying like a bitch about the Redskins sucking for fifteen years. Then it came to me, we were in the playoffs last year. It has not been fifteen years, it has been a few months since Gibbs brought us a winner. So to all thoise doughters, if we dont win this year, Gibbs will get us back to being a winner. The only thing to fear is not fear itself, it is Joe Gibbs retiring.

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
well i'm not a DOUBT-ER,
JK but after a few days to settle my self after a horrible loss, i still love the skins. no joke yesterday i had a dream that we went 9-1 to finish the season, only other loss, the saint. it was wierd, troy aikman was going over the redskins season on the screen while the skins were getting ready to play a playoff game at home Vs. the panthers. maybe it is the real thing like deja voo. maybe not who knows

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
I am not a Joe Gibbs Hater or Doubter or whatever, but I will say that I will be hard on a team when they don't play well... and we didn't.
I just want to say this: Unconditional love comes from mommy and daddy... and thats about it. It does not and should not come from fans. When you lose, you lose love. When we have to hear this shit all week... so do you... We as fans follow a symbol, or a city, or a nostalgic feeling we get when we see certain colors. As passionate as we can be, that's basically what it boils down to. However, for Brunell (not picking on just him here, but he had the quote I want to use) and other players to say, "I'm sure we feel the loss more than the fans, we're the ones that are out there..." and whatnot... That shit boils my blood. That symbol that represents to you guys a paycheck, is a symbol that I have been flying my whole life out of passion and emotion, and because of me and thousands of people just like me, your paycheck is astronomical. As a matter of fact, sir when a bunch of guys who get grossly overpaid to play a game I would play for free (and do every chance I get... risking my family going without eating if I were to get injured) don't perform as they should, You Get Fucking Booed... It should sting.... It should be embarassing... Just as embarassing as it is for me to wear half of my fucking wardrobe in public, since it was used to pay for that piss poor performace..... Having said that, I am a huge skins fan... I always have been and will be until I die, or until outside pressure forces us to change the team name and mascott, and then I'll switch to the Cardinals... j/k ... but at the end of the day I'm just as big of a fan as some hippie who turns a blind eye to underachieving and should not be corn-holed into not being a True Skins Fan because I don't like what I'm seeing when we suck. And just because we don't suck next week, doesn't mean we didn't suck last week, and the eternal optimists weren't any more right about shit than anyone else... Peace...

We all love gibbs for all the great memories he has given to all of us. Super bowls the class he always in defeat or when we win. But he also has to be judge on his record and personel moves since he return and right now its not to great. Maybe Yoda has one more run in his jedi way for the redskins to make another run lets hope so. Because in all lays in the arm of his aging jedi knight brunell lets hope he can saves from the dark forces of the evil empire of the cowboy, eagle and giant sith. May the force be with us hail to the skins. We all love JJG>

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
Finally! Someone with a bit of perspective. I was in CVS this evening, and the girl at the counter asked for my CVS card. Well, my card is on my key chain - which has a Washington Redskins symbol on it. She looked at it and said, "I love the Redskins too!" I told her, "yeah hope we win again real soon.." and she looked at me and said, "oh don't worry, the Redskins are going to just fine.." I left CVS thinking...wow ya know..here's a young girl (probably still in high school) who has loads of confidence in our team! That made me feel proud to be a Redskins fan!

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
It’s great to see some positive thoughts finally creeping in. It’s time for us all to dig down deep and come together as a whole.
I have to admit though, that I am completely and utterly disgusted with some of our fans at this moment. This is not a direct criticism of anyone on this board, but rather a general opinion regarding comments I have observed over the past few days from various sources. Never in my 24 years of being a Redskins fan have I witnessed such a total lack of respect for our organization and each other as well. The comments about Coach Gibbs are the ones that have bothered me the most. Most of these comments come from individuals who are young and have no clue as to who he is and what he has sacrificed both professionally and personally for this team. By no means do I think Coach Gibbs is perfect, but he is someone who deserves more respect than he is receiving right now. Leave the comments about his personal life out. They are not warranted and it makes you look foolish when you say them. Furthermore, I don’t believe that Joe Gibbs has to prove anything to anyone, period. There is a reason why he is the coach and we are not. If we truly listened to some of the negative comments coming from some of the fans right now, then we should just go ahead and quit. Screw it all. Turn in our cards. Let’s build a big bonfire, throw in our jerseys and be done with it, all the while booing our players and calling for the heads of every staff member who wears the Redskins logo. Perhaps we should abandon the sport of football altogether, because according to them, this is the end of the world. Seriously, has everyone forgotten what team we’re a fan of? It’s the Washington Redskins. We will always be considered the underdog. It doesn’t matter what we do. This team has always struggled with consistency, but the one constant our team could always depend on was the fans. We always showed up no matter what the circumstances. This team has a long and valuable history. We’ve been here since the beginning. When Coach Gibbs says we are the greatest fans in the world, I believe him. I attribute much of our frustration because of the society we live in today. Instant gratification is the norm. No one likes to work or sacrifice for anything anymore. It’s all about me. Hear me! Love me! I am entitled! No you’re not. You’re a fan damn it. Act like one – through the good and the bad. I am in no way implying that we aren’t allowed to be critical, but the sheer nastiness of some of our fans’ attitudes right now is ridiculous. I fear that if we continue down this path, then we will truly reap what we sow. So let’s stick to arguing the X’s and O’s and leave the other stuff at home. I believe our time is coming. I have no doubt about that. If not this season, then the next. Whatever happens I will wear my colors proudly and I will never hold my head in shame. Call me a dreamer, a homer, or anything you like. It will not dissuade me from my opinion nor cause me to change my position. Because ultimately for me, whether this team sinks to the lowest gutter or stands proudly with a trophy in hand, I will be here supporting them all the way. It’s the tough times that make you stronger, tests what you are made of and makes the victories all the more sweeter. |

Re: I Love Joe Gibbs!!!!!!!!!
well said Lady Brave. I find myself just flabbergasted after our losses this year. But I still Love my Skins, for better of worse.Im all for sharing thoughts about what went wrong, what to fix and so on. But personal attacks keep me from reading and responding here or elsewhere. There is simply no place for it. Trust me I understand and feel the same frustrations as everyone one else, but once it gets off the x's & o's and attacks on Gibbs personal life and beliefs start...oh man! I think those people are worthless pieces of sh!t and DO NOT deserve to be Washington Redskins fans.

I havent poured over every thread, but have people been attacking Gibbs's personal life and beliefs? I have trouble believing that.
