Tony McGee Reaction to Jacksonville!
Jacksonville Reaction: Tony McGee
Hey Guys, great to be back after a great win. Overall this is the best game that I’ve seen this group play offensively and defensively. We had contributions from everyone. I said when we talked last week, that if we ran the ball, made Leftwitch immobile, and developed a good QB rush, that we’d have a great chance to win, and we did. What I liked about the defense was the defensive line, the rush out of them was great. Out of our four sacks, three were from the Dline, which is going to be key down the stretch. If we are going to compete against teams like Indianapolis. The secondary obviously needs to get better. We blitzed a lot during the game, but we couldn’t blitz as much as I know they’d like too because of the zone. Other than the first throw, Brunell did a great job. Some people will STILL find something to complain about with him, but he’s doing as good as he can do. With learning the new offense, but the Oline is what really makes Brunell as good as he’s been lately. They had no sacks yesterday against a GREAT defensive line, it keep the defense honest. Finally, Clinton Portis is really all you have to say. He makes this team so much better offensively. Looking at the rookie Golston out of Georgia on the dline, he’s a GREAT surprise right now. His quickness and his motor is what coaches have been saying they love about him. He never stops! Looking at Anthony Montgomery, the coaches love his size, but he needs to still get a little stronger and they think these guys are your tackles of the future. As far as Albert Haynesworth, I know they already handed the suspension down, and I thought it was a four game MINIMUM, in addition to a fine. If they are going to find Sean Taylor for SPITTING (which I definitely do not agree with), but this is far, far worse. This is basically assault and it was almost major enough for him to be gone for the year. Looking at T.J. Duckett, I just don’t think he has the offense down yet and he’s not one of the better special team players right now, so that’s why he hasn’t been playing. I will say this though, he will become very important in this scheme, I can promise you. When being on a team when your teammate is attacked by fans or the media, it’s a “circle the wagons” type of mentality. When you’re attacked from the outside, you circle the wagons and you fight back. The team is in the corners of each other, and you have to have your teammates backs. I think the receivers did with Brunell. This week going into NY, we need to switch things up defensively because Pierce and Arrington both know what we do, and can help the Giants, so we need to change that. Same can be said offensively, because Pierce knew a lot of what we did there too. Tiki Barber is someone we need to bottle up, whenever he does well, Eli will do well as well. Running is the formula to win the football game. Bottom line. Thanks guys! I’ll be back next week after hopefully another win!

I dont think we need to be worried about what LA or pierce know about our team. the offense is safe considering we have a new coordinator and on d what did LA really know about this defense...If anything AP knows more about it than him. but whether they know whats coming or not it doesnt matter it comes down to simple execution and players making plays.

to me it doesn't really matter who knows what. you can know whats coming, and if its executed properly, you still will not be able to stop it

There is truth in your words Dmek. Who didn't know Riggins was gettin' the ball between the tackles?

"Good Job" Mr. McGee. I look for 200 yards rushing.
