he was the packers 1st round pick 2 years ago, maybe three. He was #10 overall, but hasnt produced. He is a speed rusher, and i dont think hes really had much plying time, may be interesting if we got him.

sorry, he was #10 overall pick in 2001, not 2002, still he has only played 18 games in his career, and i dont think he missed them due to injury. I think we should give him a look, he probably still has much untapped potential

I don't think it would hurt to give him a shot. He must have been the 10th overall pick for a reason. It seems like he has alot of upside since he is so young, and we could probly pick him up for next to nothing considering he has only had 4 total tackles his entire career.

If we pick up Reynolds and use him as a situational pash rusher, we could then concentrate on getting a run-stuffing DT like Sam Adams or Daryl Gardner. (I personally like the idea of Adams since he isn't injury prone and also since he played in Gregg Williams defense before).

Upshaw was a high first round pick too so let's not get too excited over this guy. But for a cheap, minimum deal what the hey, bring him in.

Gentlemen:

I want to make sure I have this right. He has been in the league for 3 years and has 4 tackles in 18 games.

Can you believe it, this guy is getting cut? He's going to be available to any of the other 31 teams in the league free of charge. How can that be?

The reason you don't bring him in is this: there are roster limits. If you bring him in, that is one other guy you can't bring in. The best thing you can say about this guy is that he does not have a lot of milage on his body. The second best thing you can say about him is that no one has yet accused him of molesting any barnyard animals.

Someone said he had to be the #10 overall pick for a reason. That is absolutely correct and here is the likely reason:

Some team made a really bad drafting decision based on faulty scouting.

Either that or the corrupt Wisconsin media has hushed it up. Bunch of cheese-eaters...

hes had more than 4 tackles, hes had 3 sacks in his career...i dont know where u got the 4 tackles from. Also, Regan Upshaw was the 12th pick i believe, and he did have some solid years in Tampa Bay earlier in his career.

Upshaw logged 18.5 sacks in 3 seasons with Tampa and has 34.5 in the 8 seasons he's played. For where he was taken in the first round I think it's safe to label him a bit of a bust.

I don't claim to know much about Jamal Reynolds or much less am I sure I want him for our team. But in fairness to Jamal and his 16 tackles in 3 seasons, he has only been active for a grand total of 18 games during those three seasons and was not a starter in any of those 18.
He was active for only 6 games in 2001, 7 in 2002 and 5 in 2003. For a guy coming off the bench and getting very limited snaps, his 16 tackles in 18 games is actualy not bad. His stats while not good are not terrible in comparison to some of our recent d-lineman.
If this guy is a situational pass rush specialist, he might be worth at least a look.

He hasnt played because they have KJB and Joe Johnson(I think thats his last name) so he hasnt had the chance to play. Now I dont konw anything aobut this kid but he has been a backup to two probowlers. Theres no reason to think he isnt some star waiting to be born but hastn been on a team wheres hes had the chance to play.
It might not be a bad idea to see how he played in those games. If you can step into a limted role and look comfortable then that says a lot. Doesnt hurt to try him out and watch some of his film. Hes couldnt be a downgrade on our team
