WR- Mike Williams
There have been a few reports that mike williams for the lions could be on the bubble to even make the 53 man roster. The reports say he is over weight and m.martz isn't happy. What do you guys think, if he is released should we sign the guy?
I think we should at least try him out. |

Re: WR- Mike Williams
We just got rid of an underacheiving WR in Jacobs who couldn't crack the WR rotation. Why would we bring in another one?

Re: WR- Mike Williams
No question...but he won't clear waivers and we will not have a shot at the guy.

Re: WR- Mike Williams
No way, if M. Martz doesnt like him what makes anyone think that Gibbs or Saunders will? Think about it like this, Martz offensive philosiphy branches off of the same system that Gibbs and Saunders does. So if Williams doenst fit in there then their is a pretty good chance that he will not fit in here either...

Re: WR- Mike Williams
If he can't play WR for the Lions, why would we want him? He doesn't fit our smaller, quicker philosophy. He's really lazy. Gibbs and Saunders wouldn't put up with that.

Re: WR- Mike Williams
Well we already passed on him in the draft, so I bet he'd pass on him again if he can't make the Lions

Re: WR- Mike Williams
This is a funny thread because when he got drafted many people here were saying we would regret not drafting this guy. Hind sight is a funny thing.

Roy Williams Charles Rogers Corey Bradford Scottie Vines Glenn Martinez Eddie Drummond Mike Furey If he can't crack the top 5 of that motley crew, why in the world would we want him here competing with Moss, Lloyd, ARE, Patten, and Thrash??? Terrible idea.

Re: WR- Mike Williams
the only WR that detroit has other than Roy Williams that I would consider, and only consider is Carlos Rogers, who by the way seems to be on the outs also in the motor city. But even still that is too many WR's and I still think that Espy should come very close to making the team...

Re: WR- Mike Williams
Why would we take a look at an overweight, underachieving player who we already passed over in the draft?
Not gonna happen. |

Re: WR- Mike Williams
if he doesn't make that team they will trade him for value..., not release him. For example like we did with jacobs.

Re: WR- Mike Williams
I find it hard to believe, no matter how strong the reports are that they could give up on a guy after his rookie season. He will make the team there and eventually pass Vines. I don't think hes any good, nor do I think he will be available.
