Burgundy Army: The More Things Change...
When the offseason began one of the biggest issues was what would the Redskins do with their backup QB; the talented, but inexperienced, kid who wasn’t living up to Joe Gibbs’ expectations. Did he have what it took mentally to be the man for the Redskins? Gibbs didn’t seem to think so and so the front office actively sought to trade the young QB.

This is a very, very interesting article. The comparision is so strong, that I figured we were talking about the '06 Skins until the last paragraph. Great read for effect.

Re: Burgundy Army: The More Things Change...
so glad you posted this tafkas, I was thinking the other day about the 91 season & trying to remember if there were any parallels from that preseason to this one. Couldn't remember any other than that preseason we were 0-4 or 1-3 I think. As a rule, Gibbs teams that don't win in preseason go on to win when it counts. I won't mind if we lose all of our preseason games.

Excellent, '91 it was a good well great year for football. Articles like this make us all (except for the young pups in our ranks) remember the good ol' days. that what keeps us wanting greatness from our team.

Re: Burgundy Army: The More Things Change...
you know, If Joe wanted to win all preseason games, he would play mainly the first string. its about who goes and who stays. I think everyone put to much concern into preseason losses. Change is not always good but it is inevitable.

I just shed 724 tears of joy reading that! Thanks for reminder that Coach Gibbs can get it done.
