Redskins' Taylor still has an attitude?

Whats this about, everything I saw on the news yesterday and read completely contradicts this crap. ST appeared to be happy to be here and was easy with the press.

This article was unable to produce a quote from Taylor's mouth that leads me to believe he was being an ass to the press. He did say something to the effect of I'm better off showing up to this minicamp instead of missing it and dealing with you press grilling me for it.

He also said "as long as you're here from July - January, that's all your team cares about." I'm not 100% sure about that, I'm sure the team would like to have him there. But at the same time I understand his point, the media are the ones that make such a big deal about missing voluntary workouts in the spring, and the effect it has on team chemistry and all that crap. Yes, Gibbs wants him there. Yes it would help him stay in shape. But come on people, does that really effect Sean Taylor's play during the season? He missed everything before last year, got in major trouble, and still showed up as a game changer for the Skins last year. He developed into one of the best safeties in the league.

In general, I'm with Sean Taylor on this one. If he misses a few practices in May, SO WHAT. The guys that really need to be there in May are the ones fighting for roster spots, and the new players. Other players probably want to see Sean working alongside them and working just as hard as they are. But as long as those players continue to say that Taylor is a good guy and a good teammate, like they have been saying, then I have no problem with what Sean Taylor is doing.

no idea, it seems more like the writer had a beef with him than anything else. Nothing new was reported there.

The writer of this article is an ass. Get used to hearing this kind of stuff on Taylor after his plea bargain. Just ignore anything u read or hear outside of his mouth or from the Redskins themselves.

Taylor's already making it hard for himself to eventually get into the Hall of Fame even if his numbers end up warranting it. If he doesn't suck up hard core to the media he has no chance!

The content of the article seems to be "Taylor didn't like us before, and he doesn't like us now." That's not really news.

I'd be concerned if Gibbs was exceedingly negative. What he said was basically "Sean missed a lot, and he has to catch up." That's not really news.

Amen to that. Sounds like a writer had a slow news day.

There is a new ST interview on redskins.com. It sounds like he is happy to be there.

Agreed! For the most part, things are just taken out of context. The writer of the article makes it seems like there is a dialogue between Gibbs and Taylor by alternating between each one's comments, in the process making Sean Taylor seem like a bad teammate. In reality, Joe Gibbs was supporting Taylor through all of the things he said in his press conference, although the article makes it seem to the contrary.

Essentially, the author is 'making up' a story. All of the things that the author quoted were said, but the deception lies behind all of the things the author didn't say, like noting Gibbs' praise of Taylor...Well, I guess whatever sells the papers, huh?

Re: Redskins' Taylor still has an attitude?

I'm of the opinion the writer is making an atempt to demonstrate that perhaps taylor is still to some extent defiant, as well as non compliant to a lesser degree. Writer perhaps became aggitated at the response from Taylor in regards to being grilled for missing workouts in the spring. Further it would appear that Taylor's view or assertion that as long as he is here from July thru Jan. that's all that matters to the team which is in sharp contrast to JG view as to how much, and how long the participation should be between seasons.

AP's article made it seem like Taylor is still a disruptive headcase who is angering the coaches. Redskins.com's article makes it seem like Taylor's issues are 100% behind him.

Methinks the truth lies somewhere in betwixt the two.

True, after all let's not forget about Redskins.com's "unfiltered" approach to spin, errrr, I mean news reporting.
