That's a very good and thought-provoking question.

A new hooker.

Seriously though, we have a new house and there's only one thing I REALLY want right now. It's the Onkyo 7.1 channel surround sound system.

3 optical inputs. Enough for my computer, dvd player and PS2. With the leftover money I'd buy your used hooker.

I'd put it towards a new 47 inch plasma or LCD TV for my "under construction" Redskins room.

Don't you hate the construction part? It's like I get to spend MAYBE $50 on it a paycheck because the fiancee is all like, "We need food. We need to pay the water bill. Blah blah blah."

Paying bills is a crutch.

I have all the pain in the ass stuff done. We painted last week, did a nice faux finish on the walls, now I'm just hanging stuff on the walls. I'll have some pics up very soon.

i'd also go for a big screen tv. 800-1k gets you a relatively flat CRT of 40-50" or 50-70% of the way to a plasma.

Nice. The painting WAS the biggest pain in the ass. I hope you primed because that was my big mistake. At least I have lots of pics I've printed out and put on the walls. My fiancee and I are going to use Microsoft Publisher and print out huge posters of ourselves in our Skins gear and put above "our" seats on the couch. I'm talking like 6' tall posters.

I'm a goof when it comes to driving directions and I've always wanted a GPS Nav system though I could never justify spending 1K on it. If I had 1K to spend I'd spend it on Garmin Nuvi

Savings bonds. In a few years, I'd have $2,000.

Where are you buying your bonds from? Russia? Assuming 5% interest compounded quarterly it'll take almost 14 years to turn $1000 to $2000.

Re: If you had $1,000 to spend freely....

TMC, we think alike, because my first thought when I saw this thread title was two $500 hookers.

However, if I was going to be more law abidding, I'd use the money on a really nice paintball gun I think. I used to play all the time back in high school but stopped once I got to college. Now that I'm out of school and so are the guys I used to play with I was thinking that I might take it up again.

On second thought, five $200 hookers would be nice...
