I don't have any names for you right now. I'll look into it. The thing is with the CBA extention, I don't think we will see any big names this year hitting the market. Just Steve McNair.

Re: June 1st cuts

remember last year before the season we were counting down to June 1st 2006 and said that brunell would be cut no later than a stroke past midnight.

AH, how times have changed

I might be wrong, but I dont think that there are any more June 1st cuts. With the new CBA you can cut a player and gain the same advantages by spreading the money over the next year...

That guy knows more about it, but I am pretty sure that June 1st cuts are a thing of the past...

You can release up to two players before June 1st, and spread the cap hit over 2 years as if it was after June 1st. So although you don't have to wait until June 1st to release a guy, a lot of teams still will so that they can screw the guy.

The new agreement allows teams to cut 2 players prior to June 1 but count them as June 1 cuts. This was put into place to allow vets to get on the market quicker and thus gain more money.

We wont see a lot of cuts. Teams that were close on the cap were aided big time with the CBA extension and everyone else isn't in need of cuts mostly. In general. I guess we might see a few but not much really.

Re: June 1st cuts

i wouldn't hold my breath, I highly doubt anyone of note is released. huge cap increase and all. why pay later when you have unused cap now with nothing to spend it on?
