Comming out of the closet...
I was wondering if anyone here has any closet hobbies? You know hobbies that your buddies dont know about but you find enjoyment from them.
I will come clean, I still read and collect comic books. I am really starting to get into it now more then what I was. Due to the fact that my main hobby (the Redskins) is slow this time of year and that my oldest son (5) is really taking a likeing to them, it gives us something is just ours, I really dont see my 2 girls being all into comics. Anyhow I was wondering if I was alone, are there warpathers out there that have some sort of hobby that is better kept to themselves rather than letting co-workers, friends, or even significant others find out about?

Found in the closet?
I collect Redskins Topps Sports Cards and have almost all cards from 1970 through 2005. I only need about 175 cards to have them all! moowhahahahaha! I'm a rookie BBQ Competition Chef too. I collect very old cook books too. Enjoy

Re: Comming out of the closet...
anyway...getting back to the question he asked, I too have been into comcis as well and haven't really told anyone about it. I just read Batman and the Punisher however. When my finished "Redskin" basement flooded in October and I re-finished it there was one corner of it that was just really a catch-all for junk. So I cleaned it up and painted it all black and made it my "Batcave". Geeky huh? Believe me though I'm not your prototypical geek. I recently went to ComicCon NYC and I felt so out of place there I almost gave comics up.

I collect legos. The Star Wars Ultimate Collector series legos to be specific. As a kid I kept getting space legos for bithdays and christmas so I eventually accumulated thousands of legos. When the Star Wars sets came out I thought they would be cool to have for my kids and I to play with together.

Re: Comming out of the closet...
Hopefully I'm not the only one who does this, but ...
I draw up football plays and offensive formations. I'll get a yellow legal pad, line up the wideouts, running backs, tight ends, with shifting, motions -- all as if I was an offensive coordinator myself. There's absolutely no point to it. After I'm done, I'll wad them up and throw them away. |
