Re: skins vs saints

Nothing against Bush but in the past 2 years RB's against us have ben hard pressed to find 100 yard games. So I do not think that he will be much of a factor, he will be lucky to get 80 yards...

Re: skins vs saints

New coach (a so-so coach at that), new QB, new RB with no NFL experience (likely a camp hold out), old RB coming off of a ACL injury, without Lecharles Bentley, bad defense...nuff said.

The good news for the Saints is that they'll have 13 games under their belt when they face the Skins...of course the Skins will also have 13 games under their belt and in the playoff hunt.

Re: skins vs saints

bush might not even be around in week 14. i can see him getting worn down, even if they share the workload. i dont think he really took the beating at usc that most rb's do, not sure on that tho

Re: skins vs saints

That offense is a little scarier than we're giving them credit for here. Brees has the decision making ability the team lacked when Aaron Brooks was there, and Brees can still make all the same throws. They've got a good receiving combination in Stallworth (deep threat) and Horn (possession). Deuce provides the power and Bush will provide the speed. All that, and Sean Payton is the new coach, and he's a pretty good offensive coordinator.

They're still weak along the offensive line, so that's definitely a factor. But they can do some damage to our D. Luckily their D stinks, so our offense should absolutely roll against them with Saunders making the calls. I think Deuce and Bush can split carries and run for 100 yards against us combined. But we'll score like maniacs in that game. Our offense is going to be impressive. Bottom line, we'll win.

I agree with Schneed, that's definitely a very potent offense potentially.

Re: skins vs saints

On Sirrius NFL radio they called about getting Saint-itus. Every year they look good, every year the end up sucking. I dont think Reggie will see a ton of playtime this year, but we shall see.

I dont think we will have a problem beating them but i havent heard much said about the schedule next season. I believe we have one of the hardest schedules out there. During the middle of the season we will see if we are a contender or not because we play indy, phil x2, atlanta, dallas, tampa, and panthers. I think we will be alright and if we make the playoffs again this year it will not be a fluke as many reporters think.

That was a direct result of Jim Haslett. He was by far the worst coach in the NFL for the last few years. So much talent, so much potential, but they play with horrendous discipline. Sean Payton comes right out of the Parcells coaching tree, he's going to instill discipline.

Now will it take effect during year 1? Probably not, there will be growing pains. Plus the defense sucks. Plus the offensive line isn't great. I still think you're talking a sub-.500 team this year. But the offense will hold it's own.

If they can keep their core together at the skill positions and add some defense and offensive line strength, they could be really good in a year or two.

Using the results of last season, we have the 11th hardest schedule in the NFL.

Of course those calculations are meaningless, because there's so much change from year to year in the NFL. We've got no idea how tough our schedule is going to be at this point. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a pretty middle of the road schedule. We play some teams with new coaches and we play some great squads too.
