NFL Network to replay full games in 2006

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5535842

This might not mean a lot to most of you, but for people who are outside The Beltway (like me) its a chance to catch more Skins' games than we'd usually get a chance to see.

Hmmm... It also gives a chance to DVR all the games that I missed. I'll be creating my own highlight video this year. That one by HR was pretty good though and I really did like the music. It was that Reggaethon right?

Great news...but will they REALLY be complete games?

"other elements not critical to the outcome."

That makes me think they'll cut out the 3 and out drives or punting fests.

Still...I'm sure they'll be better than the 1-hour "Game of the week" broadcasts they've had.

Thanks for the news.

yeah i think they are going to condense into a ninty minute game using some of the main film(from fox or whomever caries the game)some of their own with their own sound bites.should be a good deal

I'm not clear on this. Is it going to be a re-broadcast of the network tape or is it going to be an NFL Films production?
If it's the latter what is the improvement from the "game of the week" besides the extra thirty minutes? If it were me I'd say leave out the NFL Films stuff and just show the game again. All three boring hours of it. It would be an improvement over the repeteive slow-motion shots of anonymous legs that we currently have to deal with.

If you've ever seen NFL Replay, it should be a lot like that.

Re: NFL Network to replay full games in 2006

NFL Game Re-Airs will play in a 90-minute fast-paced format without halftime and other elements not critical to the outcome. NFL Game Re-Airs will tell the story of the game with additional features.
In order to give the games context, NFL Network will add sideline and on-field sound captured during the game and postgame press conference sound bites.
Other enhancements will include exclusive shots and camera angles from NFL Films, allowing fans an inside look at game action they did not see on Sunday. This will give fans a deeper understanding of the game, the players and the coaches.
NFL Game Re-Airs will feature four of the top games from each weekend
games shown each Tuesday and Wednesday night with 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET/PT kickoff times.

Thats great for those of that go to the games, now we don't have to rly on sportscenter to find out what happened that weekend in football. I know my wife will hate this!

I feel you. For 30 years I lived in the upper Midwest suffering Redskins withdrawal. I LOVED Joe Gibbs because the Skins were on a lot of double header and primetime games and I could see a lot of their games. You have no idea how incredibly boring Black & Blue division games were before Ditka/Dennis Green/Brett Favre in the '70s & 80s.

I have COMCAST digital cable here in Richmond VA. NFL network is included in the service, which is the digital service, not just basic cable.

I dropped cable for Dish Network when we bought a house and were allowed to have a dish since we owned the place instead of renting.

I LOVE IT.

For cheaper or the same price, that won't go up every few months since you have a contract, you get MANY MANY more channels. I have the plan with 120 channels, but you can get 180 for a little more. You also get about 60 SIRIUS music channels that I actually put on quite often if I'm working around the house. There are a TON of sports channels (and SPEED if you're a car freak like me). In my area, Dish Network still gives you Comcast Sports for Redskins/Orioles/Wizards/Capitals/George Mason coverage. There are a lot of ESPN channels also. NFL Network too.

As for reliability, I've only had it drop on a few VERY VERY heavy storms with bad wind, lightning and hail. I probably shouldn't have been watching TV then anyways. It's very reliable for me.

Their customer service is very responsive too. I called with a question and they were very helpful. The Installer was great too, he gave me a lesson that covered about everything I'll need to know before he left my house.

I say GO FOR IT. I chose Dish over DirecTV because I liked the channel lineup better and it was less expensive.

Re: NFL Network to replay full games in 2006

I've never noticed any major issues regarding reliability with my dish. I love it!

Don't believe the BS that the cable companies are shoveling. You would think a light breeze knocks out your service if you listen to them. Trust me, it doesn't.

Even during heavy winds and rain my service doesn't go out.

I can second their great customer service too, and my installer was great and put in an extra phone jack in my living room at no additional cost.

Their prices are better, the programming is better, customer service is better, they have exclusive rights to the Sunday Ticket, they have NFL Network which a lot of cable companies still don't have... DirecTV is a no-brainer if you ask me.
