Biggest threats in the NFC

What teams are the biggest threats to the Skins in the NFC. Here are a few possiblilities.

Panthers- solid on both sides of the ball, have added some good players to their defense.

Falcons- Abraham is added to an already very solid D-line. But can they stop the ball. Can Vick complete a pass downfield?

Giants- solid on both side of the ball. How far along is Eli? Do they have a secondary?

Seahawks- Great offense, under-rated defense. How much with Hutchinson's loss hurt the running game. Is their defense championship callibur.

I personally fear the pathers the most.

Seahawks. Their weapons on offense are disgusting and they still have the best o-lineman in football. They made some decent defensive pickups too. I think the Panthers continue to be overated. Especially after they were humiliated by the Seahawks when it mattered.

1. Bears-Great D may add a great O this year. Easiest schedule in the entire league.
2. Panthers-Many weapons on both sides of the ball. Have the potential to pull a road upset in the playoffs.
3. Cowboys-Biggest threat within the division. Must win at least one of the two games to be division champs.

Re: Biggest threats in the NFC

im still not ready to count out philly,as much as i would like to.not worried about atlanta until they shore up a porous defense.dallas has too many question marks on their o line.hutchinson leaving seattle is huge, and im still not sold on hassleback.carolina might be the biggest threat with their good defense and solid running game.until eli manning proves something, the giants will never be able to take the biggest step

philly, dallas, and the giants... these are the game s that matter the most and we have to come out as division champs and try to win home field advantage

Re: Biggest threats in the NFC

1. Panthers-If they get a consistent running game their offense has the potential to be explosive. Defensively they are as tough as they come.

2. Giants-They have a brutal first 2 months (Indy, @ Philly, @ Seattle, Washington, @Atlanta, @ Dallas, Tampa) but if they survive that stretch they could be competitve in the end. They could easily be 2-5 and be done or 5-2 with a relatively easy remaining schedule. Lots of talent but probably as many question marks.

3. Seahawks-Even off of the Super Bowl appearance they still aren't elite to me. Solid on both sides of the ball but with everything going perfectly last season they still didn't impress.

4. Buccaneers-A full season with Simms could be a really good thing. Defense probably has one more dominating season in it before they will have to rebuild it.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

I think the Rams could really suprise a lot of people this year. But like diehard says the biggest threats are in our own division

Theres always the usual rival teams that play us tough but the team that is definately gonna be gunnin for us is Tampa. Their gonna have a top three defense and they have the weapons to succeed on offense. this is almost a rival outside the division.

I agree, these are six division games, no other games are more important than winning in your own division and the NFC East is shaping up once again to be the toughest division in the NFL.

Re: Biggest threats in the NFC

I agree with that of those who say to fear our own division. I'm not perticularly concerned about any of the other teams in the conference until the playoffs come around. I'm confident we can take out Atlanta/Carolina both at home, but again, inside the division is going to make or break our season. If we can have success within the division like we did last year, we'll be a-ok. If we go back to 03/04' form inside the divsion, its going to be a long year.

Re: Biggest threats in the NFC

The Seahawks had some key losses on their O-Line and at WR in the offseason. They'll still be good, but not as good as last year.

In the NFC, I think the Panthers, Bears, Bucs and Giants will be the toughest competitors for us.

I think Marc Bulger is a more than serviceable QB. Stephen Jackson is a stud in the making, if he's not already. Faulk is on the downslope of his career but he can stil give you a little something. I think Isaac Bruce will have a bounceback year and when talking about the best receivers in the game I probably wouldn't go top 5 without mentioning Holt.

The key offensively of course is for Bulger to stay healthy. But now with Frerotte, they at least have a veteran backup and don't have to turn to Fitzpatrick.

Defensively, they added a run stopper in La'Roi Glover, a playmaking linebacker in Will Witherspoon. Plus I like them adding Corey Chavous to be the leader in that secondary. And I think Haslett was a good choice for defensive coordinator.

I can see 10-6 and a wild card for the Rams

Re: Biggest threats in the NFC

I honestly think we are the biggest threats to ourselves. If we can stay healthy, I believe we win the division hands down.
