MSNBC (3/4/06): CBA Talks Dead

POS Upshaw walks out. NFLPA's lead negotiator says talks are "dead as a doornail".

Re: MSNBC (3/4/06): CBA Talks Dead

wow, not that i'm really surprised.

I spent a week looking over those cap sheets and answering questions, so i'd be kinda pissed if they DID get a new deal and wasted all that time.

maybe they already knew of my wrath and decided it'd be best not to anger me... at least they're a thoughtful bunch.

I'd prefer to have wasted all that time.

Re: MSNBC (3/4/06): CBA Talks Dead

NEW YORK (AP) -- Talks between the NFL and its union broke off Saturday with no progress, although the sides agreed to meet again Sunday.

The stalemate increased the possibility that many high-priced free agents would come on the market as teams struggled to get under the salary cap by 6 p.m. EST Sunday, the extended deadline for the start of free agency.

"No progress has been made, but we expect more discussions to take place before Sunday night," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

Go figure.

At least they are still meeting. I think that if there was no chance a deal would get done because no progress had been made, the sides wouldn't even be meeting tomorrow.

I believe we actually lose cap space against our 06 cap by cutting lavar.

Re: MSNBC (3/4/06): CBA Talks Dead

If somethings gonna happen, let it happen now.

This is going to sting at first, but if the cap is thrown out for good we will end on top. We will have a dynasty within 5 years.

What the hell makes these other owners think that they have a right to our revenues just because they have a smaller market. BooWah! I hope Snyder tells them to kiss his pastey (and I bet it's pastey) ass.

There was a reason teams like Green Bay, Tampa, Atlanta, etc were perenial doormats before the advent of the cap. All I have to say is I hope they have a pleasant return trip.
