Albert Haynesworth
There is ma rumor that the titans have six players competing for two spots on the defensive tackle position, which could force DT Albert Haynesworth to be cut or traded.I would would love to have him if this is true.

That could be an interesting player. Talk about bolstering the d-line. Big A is very good athlete and has had some great years with the titans. One question is was it because he was with Kearse, carter, and Robaire Smith. Well really doesnt matter any player really would be an upgrade.

That rumer you heard is false. Hanesworth is the Titans best d-line, why would they trade or cut him. He one of the best run stuffers in the league and is developing into a everydown DT. Don't count on seeing him in anything but a titans uniform.

I admired this guy's college career, and his potential, but he has been a disappointment.

Scott, where did you read anything about Haynesworth being a "head case"? And who else on our team is a "head case" ?

This trade is not going to happen. It's ridiculous.
They lost Kearse and Smith, there is no way they are going to part with Haynesworth. |

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was the only veteran unaccounted for at an organized team workout on Tuesday, and his teammates took notice. "It's a slap in the face to the guys who are here," running back Eddie George said. "We're all here putting the work in." ... "I'm not concerned with Albert Haynesworth right now," Fisher said Tuesday. "I only care about the ones who are here, not the ones who are not." ... "For a guy that's a three-year vet ... I think he should be here," quarterback Steve McNair said. "I hope he comes in in shape. He's got a lot of pressure on him. He's put a lot of pressure on himself." |

Albert Hayneswerth slipped in the draft because people were concerned about his dedication to football and about some of his less-than-constuctive relationships with his college teammates. That's how he fell to Tennessee; he has plenty of raw talent.
Ignoring the criminal aspects of the following analogy, I suspect that Haynesworth is a latter day Darrell Russell. Does not always stay in shape; does not play full speed on every play; is not the most popular guy in your locker room. Yes, Russell had one fantastic season and has a boatload of talent. Likewise, Hayneworth has a lot of talent. But we did see what an unmotivated Darrell Russell is worth. Do you want to take a risk on an encore performance? I'll pass, thank you. |

Dead on analysis Defense. This guy would've went alot higher in the draft were it not for these kinds of concerns, and now it seems the worries were founded. We don't need this guy. Now Joe Johnson at DE might be a different story- if he's healthy......

I think we are all forgetting something though. If he did get cut, 1- how will we afford him under the cap? 2- We have some of the best well respected coaches around with Blanche and Bugel and of course Gibbs, his attitude would quickly be a non issue. I'd LOVE to have this guy. He's just about ready to enter stardom, love to see him achieve it in a skins uni.
