Scouting Next Season's Opponents
OK, so we haven't really talked about next season's opponents since the list was release during our playoff run. For starters we are playing the NFC South and AFC South. In addition to teams in those two divisions we play the Rams and the Vikings. None of the teams we play scare me but I am worried about several of them. In particular the Panthers, the Colts, and the Falcons. All the division games are winnable as we proved that this year.
Home Games: When the Skins are playing at home no team should beat them. I mean, how could they, with continuity and the crowd and playoff experience? Dallas Cowboys - This is going to be a good game and very close. I highly doubt the Cowboys can beat us at home. New York Giants - Eli matures but so does our defense and offense. And if they still have Plexiglas on the roster count this as a win. Philadelphia Eagles - Has their window of opportunity closed? I don't think they'll be a bad team next year but they aren't going to be good enough to win on the road. Atlanta Falcons - Aggressive defense plus a highly mobile QB is a dangerous combination. Contrary to what some might think, if you don't close every single window on Vick he'll burn you running and passing. Oh and Dunn will be playing and you know the little bugger can run as well. Carolina Panthers - You can't say enough good things about this team. They have the defense, they have an offense that's good enough to score 25 points a game. They ware in our own image. Minnesota Vikings - New coaches, no way they win this game especially if we play them at the beginning of the season. Jacksonville Jaguars - Good defense, mediocre offense. Still, they are dangerous team. I like the Skins at home though. Tennessee Titans - They are in rebuilding mode and they'll be playing a playoff team from the season before. They’ll need help from god to beat the Skins. Away: Away games look pretty formidable but we'll be playing some “soft” teams. Dallas Cowboys - This is going to be a tough game, I've never been comfortable playing in Dallas but I can't really see the Cowboys improving drastically. Plus, it doesn't help that they lost their OC Payne or whatever his title was. New York Giants - I hate the Meadowland more than Texas Stadium. You saw what happened this past season. I can't really see us winning this one. Philadelphia Eagles - Their defense will still be good, their offense? No Running game + no receivers = stinky offense with McNabb scrambling for his life. They'll be even worse if they lose Jon Runyan to FA. New Orleans Saints - New coaches! If the Skins can't beat them, we're in trouble ya'll. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - This should be a good defensive battle just like in the playoffs. Look for the Skins to come out on top because the Bucs will still have offensive line issues. St. Louis Rams - Martz gone, poor defense, and a running game that was last heard of in 2000 doesn't bode well for the Rams. Houston Texans - They'll have New Coaches and will be rebuilding once again. Mr. Bush, Mr. Taylor would like to welcome you into the NFL. God help them if we play them in the first few weeks of the season. Indianapolis Colts - Poor bastards, they are good for at least 12 wins next year. I wonder if the blitz them, blitz them and blitz them so more philosophy will work next season. The Ultimate Question: Can the Redskins win 12 or more games next year?

Re: Scouting Next Season's Opponents
The Redskins go 13 -3 and win the BIG ONE.
Their losses: at New York, at Dallas, and in a shocking upset, at Houston.

Re: Scouting Next Season's Opponents
I'm say we will win 11 games, but much more better and scarier to every team in the league......, the skins have a chance of being in the NFC Championship game

Re: Scouting Next Season's Opponents
i agree that 11/12 wins is VERY possible but if runyan leaves the ugles does anyone think TB will toss some big dollars his way? If they solidify that line with cadilick and a solid D we could be playing them at Fed Ex in the champioship game.

Re: Scouting Next Season's Opponents
Redskins 11-5
Eagles 11-5 Giants 9-7 Cowboys 8-8 The NFC East is going to be so strong next year, all of the teams are going to beat each other up. Philly will get SO many players back healthy that I see them being strong again. McNabb coming back at full strength is downright scary, we can't underestimate the Birds. Cowboys have horrible team chemistry. A lot of the guys on the Giants hate their coach. Those teams have some talent, but those factors take them down a peg. I think I'm being very realistic when I say that whoever survives the NFC East will be the conference champion and head to the Super Bowl. It's either Philly or us. Carolina and Tampa Bay both should threaten as well. Seattle can't be written off either, though I wonder if they'll lose Alexander. |

Runyan is a right tackle. Screw him. He is dirtier than the men's room at Veteran's stadium. I hope he signs with Dallas and has a career ending injury. |

Re: Scouting Next Season's Opponents
You guys are simply amazing!
Except for Saunders, there have been NO off season moves. You don't know which free agents you are retaining and/or signing. Do not know which players are coming or going. Don't know who is going to be drafted. Have not even seen the 2006 schedule yet. Don't even know what day the team is reporting to camp. Do not know how the offense is going to respond to a new offensive coordinator. Have not restructured one single contract to eliminate that 20 million dollar cap deficit. And you guys can predict an 11-5 or 12-4 or even 13-3 season with all of those unknowns? Like I said amazing! Hey I have some beach front property in Death Valley I will sell you too. |

How 'bout them Cowboys!!!
Seriously, was that a professional football team that came to Fed Ex? Don't be upset because our boys ruined your Monday night halftime ceremony and embarrassed you guys on national television. |
