Just a little love for Lemar Marshall

One of the huge question marks coming into the season was how was Lemar Marshall going to replace Antonio Pierce at MLB.. All he did was make a TD saving INT on opening day vs. Chicago, make a huge INT vs. the Giants and possibly saved the season with his INT today not to mention just playing all around solid football all season long. Let's give Marshall some props as well.. I'm not going to do a post for everyone on the roster but MLB was supposed to be a position of weakness for us but Marshall made a seamless transition from Pierce to him.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

i'm glad you put this up. I was just talking about this with someone. Lamar made an AMAZING INT today. Look at it. Just amazin. Tipped it with one hand found it in the air and snatched it out.

He was definitely a pleasant suprise in his switch to mlb which was a very productive switch. How much longer do we have him signed up for?

I agree. Marshall has been huge for us this season but it seems like he has kind of gone under the radar a little. People might not notice, but I think he even leads our team in interceptions.

Vishskins, that's a good point. I've been keeping an eye on Marshall, and like you said, he's been leading the team in interceptions. Coming into the year, a lot of people questioned whether Marshall could step up, including myself. He has really stepped up this year and done a better job than Pierce did last year. Pierce had two interceptions last year, one returned for a touchdown. Marshall has had 4 interceptions, and he returned one for a touchdown too. My hat's off to Marshall, he has been underrated and very solid in the middle.

Marshall has made some key plays for us this year and he's proved to be a very capable replacement for Pierce.

I hope the staff learned their lesson last year when they didn't resign pierce. They better resign marshall when his contract is up, he can be a solid player for many years to come. I heard that his contract is up after this year, is that true?

Re: Just a little love for Lemar Marshall

He's got a 3 year deal worth just over $2M, we might have to give him a new extension soon though if he keeps ballin' like that!

Re: Just a little love for Lemar Marshall

Well it seems that if he's now starting to do pretty well we ought to quickly jerk him around with some contract renegotiations, generally do everything we can to piss him off and then quickly trade him to another team (preferably a division rival) where he can play out his career hating this organization.

Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? Doesn't it??
