Dear Coach Gibbs:

I'm sorry. I should have known better but I did it anyways. I doubted you. I was a fan back in '82 when Riggins rumbled to Super Bowl immortality. I agonized when Marcus Allen cut back across the field and ran to glory. I cheered when Doug Williams set a SB record with 4 TD passes in a quarter. I celebrated when Mark Rypien bombed his way to a 14-2 season and a SB win. Yet I still doubted you.

When you didn't give up on Brunell last season, I thought you were wrong. When you passed on Mike Williams in the draft, I thought you must be senile. At 5-6 I questioned your play calling and called for Jason Campbell. Once again you have shown why your bust is hanging in Canton, OH and I have to pay admission to enter the Hall of Fame.

Thank you for restoring the Redskins that I grew up loving and still watch every Sunday, Monday, Thursday or Saturday, pre-season, regular season and now thankfully again, postseason. Congratulations and Hail!

I love Coach Gibbs and what he represents. I hope when it is all written, said and done, a movie-documentary is made to illustrate his impact to this franchise. It is long overdue.

Re: Dear Coach Gibbs:

This should settle the "Can Gibbs still coach in today's NFL?" questions.

Re: Dear Coach Gibbs:

Gibbs is only part of the puzzle....you should be thanking Randy Thomas, Jansen, and Portis for urging Gibbs for the run-first game plan. Of course, thanks to Gibbs for re-instating the run-oriented offense after the loss to San Diego.

I think the players are as important for making this happen as Gibbs is.

Gibbs knows what to do in order to get the right players together and the right coaching staff together. The man is a great organizer. True, Gibbs is just a piece of the puzzle, but he's one of the most important pieces.

Oh, lest my post be misunderstood, hell yes, thank Gibbs for getting us back to the playoffs. Just making sure our veteran offensive players get their due for getting Gibbs to implement the smashmouth gameplan. Nobody would be lavishing Gibbs with praise if we lost today's game.

Re: Dear Coach Gibbs:

Great post, Paintrain. Well said.

When the team takes the field in Tampa this Saturday, it will mark two years to the day that Joe Gibbs announced his return to the team, and this has been the day that we have been waiting for.

What a payoff. Win or lose, this has been the most rewarding season since the last Superbowl victory and this establishes the team very well for next season. I'm one happy season-ticket holder.

Re: Dear Coach Gibbs:

Ya know, I was very optimistic when we were 5-5. I started that thread about us being better than a .500 team and everyone was all gloom and doom. But, no way, no how did I expect us to get to the playoffs. All I have to say is wow, Gibbs you are the man.
